Serves meat, vegan options available. Offers several vegan options like a vegan burger and vegan meatballs. Other items can be potentially vegan. Removed Mar 2020 - limited vegan options.
Cute, small cozy atmosphere with a few vegan options on the menu. I got a house salad to start (lots of veggies with dressing options) and the Japanese udon noodles. It was tasty, but they don’t have any vegan protein options so it was a lot of noodles with a few veggies. They also have vegan meatballs and a beet burger to choose from, but I didn’t try them so can’t confirm.
Overall: If I’m going to spend a lot, I want to feel a little more full than I would here!
I used to go here for brunch all the time as a vegetarian. It was terrific! But after going vegan, I see there are far fewer options. They do have an extensive vegan juice and smoothie selection, but I wish they applied some of that inventiveness to the main menu. If you’re in the area in need of breakfast, I’d probably suggest Pain Quotidien, even though it’s a chain. A bit more going on for vegans.
This cafe came up on my phone as being nearby where my vegan friend and I were looking for a quick bite between shows on a Wednesday and Blue Dog Kitchen is barely "veg-friendly." The server didn't have a clue what "vegan" or "plant-based" meant and even though I was careful about how I ordered, I am certain I ate something with egg or dairy because of ignorant server.
I'm not sure if I was there on a bad day, the menu changed or what, but if you're deeply concerned about vegan dining, I suggest avoiding this place.
Tasty Veggie-Friendly Light Fare in Midtown NYC - Edit
My husband and I found this place online and had a cozy veggie-friendly meal with delicious spinach, mushroom & caramelized onion quesadillas with guacamole, roasted brussel sprouts, cheesy grits with green chiles. They offer a variety of @ 25 teas, both with caffeine and herbal, and the best coffee I've tasted in NYC. The bartender's recommendation of a mixed herbal tea "Angel" was delicious. The staff is friendly and relaxed and the music wasn't blaring, which was very nice. They gave us a Valentine heart attached to two cookies on the house, which made our night. I've heard their brunch is fantastic.

Great for veggies, not so much for vegans - Edit
