Serves meat, vegan options available. Contemporary Southwestern Native American cuisine that's predominately meat but vegetarians could have the portobello burger, navajo taco, fries (ask if same fryer). Has cactus pear lemonade. Vegans should specify as honey and dairy is used. The menu draws from the Navajo, Hidatsa, Hopi, and Mandan tribes. Hip vibe with a silversmith shop off the side of the restaurant. Open Tue-Sat 11:30am-3:00pm, Tue-Thu 5:00pm-9:00pm, Fri-Sat 5:00pm-10:00pm.

Few vegan options - Edit
Honestly, this always comes up on Google and happycow if you search Vegan in Provo. They have almost no vegan options.

Delicious food with "secret" menu - Edit
The food here is delicious, the setting is elegant, and the staff is very friendly. From the menu, it looked that there was hardly any vegan items for dinner except for a couple of salads.. Had I not read the other reviews on Happy Cow, I would not have known to ask for other options. Ideally, a restaurant should have their vegan items listed clearly on the menu--otherwise there is always a risk that when you arrive they will say "oh, we don't serve any vegan items."

Delicious, Pricey, Limited - Edit
There are 5 vegan options, which you have to ask for: a burrito, a Navajo taco, two salads and a mushroom burger. The salad was a good size but rather light for $10 (just greens, pecans, red onion and Craisins with a delicious sweet dressing). The Navajo taco was really a delicious treat.

Good Food - Edit
I went here a while back for lunch and had the portobello burger which was served between two pieces of fry bread and was way too much food for me (very good though).

Not many options, but delicious - Edit
I was a disappointed that there weren't many vegetarian options. They weren't listed on the menu at all -- I had to get up to ask the hostess and she just told me what they were: 1) zucchini/squash or cheese enchiladas, and 2) meatless Navajo taco. Apparently the portobello burger is only offered for lunch.
Read moreThat being said, the food was AMAZING. It was pricey -- the zucchini/squash enchiladas were the same price as their meaty counterparts -- but it was some of the best food I've had in Utah Valley. The sauce on the enchiladas was divine, the cilantro rice was heavenly, and the refried beans were very tasty (although I could have done with a little less cheese). I might have to go back to check out the Navajo tacos someday.
Pros: delicious food
Cons: pricey, no veg menu, few options

Great for vegetarians, not so much for vegans - Edit
Black Sheep Cafe has quite a few vegetarian options.
Read moreThough the menu says some vegetarian options can be made vegan, vegan options are limited and the staff doesn't know hardly anything about vegan diets. The portobello burger wasn't good at all and was served between two tortillas with no sauce. The Navajo taco was pretty good, and the cactus pear lemonade is delicious.
The staff seems to know little about vegan diets and wasn't sure what was and wasn't vegan. They went to ask the staff multiple times about different things.
Pros: Interesting cuisine
Cons: Not so good for vegans, Staff not very knowledgeable
