Amazing - Edit

Coming from the city center, you'll pass Yomaro Frozen Yogurt and Dolce Cielo and then just outside the pedestrian zone, you'll find the organic supermarket "Bio Markt" with a large parking lot and the Bistro Viva in the adjacent building.

Is it worth the walk? Definitely! The menu changes every day, all dishes are vegetarian, most can be made vegan* and they're always good and sometimes awesome. The food is fresh and tasty and you'll usually have the choice between "safe", more traditional main courses and more creative ones. I've been to many vegetarian and vegan restaurants around the world and if I had to choose one where I'd have to eat for the rest of my life, it would be this one.

The menu is only available in German, but most of the staff speaks English. You can also download it from their website (click on "Mittagstisch") and run it through an automatic translator, it works surprisingly well. Service can be a bit of a hit and miss, depending on who's working and how busy the place is, but has consistently improved over the first year of the restaurant's existence.

Prices are very reasonable, even for German standards.

The interior designer deserves some praise, too. The restaurant has a modern and friendly look. You can either sit at the counter from where you can watch the kitchen staff working or choose on of the tables (there are more tables available than at the "Oh! Bio Mio").

Notes:
- *Dishes also available in a vegan version are marked with an asterisk.
- Try one of the freshly made juices.
- When the staff warns you that the plate is hot, they actually mean it.
- If you're going by foot from the city center, make sure you take the Neustraße which has a lot of interesting small shops.
