For 39 euros I'd want to know what I'd get

We searched hard for this place and were pretty disappointed when we discovered there were no Veg options on the menu. The friendly host said most of their customers use the tasting menu at 39 Euros a head and if we picked that they could cater for Veg and Vegan but did not give examples. We weren't looking to spend anywhere near that amount especially not without any idea of what we would be given so we left.

Pros: Fine dining-Tasting Menu
Cons: Expensive, No written proof/examples of veg options
  • mostly-vegetarian

Both of us had a great experience

I had read about this place on happycow, and here's my Assinatura review.

There's no sign outside that tells you the food is "vegetarian" and the owner will tell you that most of the patrons are not vegetarians, but once they come in, they keep coming back.

I eat 4 course tasting menu vegeterian (42€)and my husband a 5 course tasting menu (51€) with fish and meat. Great flavours, first class products, great wines. 10 out of 10. I great experince to repeat

Pros: excellent foos, attentive service

Gastronomic veggy menu

Posted on 09 / 01 / 2012

Amazing restaurant for those who want a great dining experience. We took a 100% vegetarian menu 4 courses, in fact 5 (big appetizer). It's not a pre vegan resto, but has a tasty vegan menu + a fish menu for those who eat it. The vegan menu were extremely delicate and complex, in a spirit new Portuguese cuisine. Already breads, vintage oil and garlic and herbs cheese which precede the meal are fabulous. A vintage bio port bio extraordinary. The appetizer (tomato soup with an eggplant cannelloni) is a plate itself. The menu is "surprise", so you have to tell if something bothers you before (like cheese ?). The veggy menu is not less qualitative than "usual one". Mashed black beans with garlic and pepper confetti, risotto with figs and parmesan, spinach soup with baked tomatoes ... an absolute delight. Finally a vegetarian menu which is a great dining experience! not just a stopgap. We can only advise a thing to this restaurant: to increase its efforts in this direction, because the vegetarian customers increases seriously! Otherwise the restaurant is almost invisible from the outside, discreet to the point of going unnoticed, must know the address. Otherwise wine was very honest and quite cheap. Products of the market, local and high quality. The vegetarian menu is 44 €, it is definitely worth the cost (not very sure of my english), and I'm a terribly difficult to satisfy french cooker !smile

Pros: gastronomic, pure hedonist vegan experience, very honest price considering the qualit
Cons: if only they could skip meat defiitely !, and fish !
