Stunningly friendly staff and a great selection of vegan starters and a few mains changing each day. If your looking for a relaxed place for a curry on the curry mile then I can highly recommend it. More like a cafe than a restaurant but provides full selection of sit-down options as well as take-a-way ones. Also very easy on the pocket!

Pros: Friendly Staff, Cheap, Good Vegan Selection
Cons: Not full service, Very quiet

Excellent choice for vegans on the Curry Mile. Curry taste more homemade than most of the generic curry houses down the mile. Husband and wife who run the place are quite friendly, have offered to stay open past 8pm when I have come in late and always are knowledgeable about vegan options (including sweets). The garlic chips are amazing!

It's good, but...

The food at Anand's was very good, and an all vegetarian Indian place is always exciting, but you're on curry mile, and nearly every place is going to have great vegetarian dishes (which means if you go with meat-eating friends you can all get something). Even further beyond curry mile you end up at great places like Moon (next to Fuel) with plenty of veggie options. This doesn't detract from Anand's, but with so many other curry options in Manchester Anand's is just one of many places to check out.

Much needed veggie place in Rusholme

It's a few weeks since I went here so cant give detailed memory. But it is a friendly cafe vibe which is cheap with nice nosh and caters pretty well for vegans. Notable for being the only veggie place on the curry mile. Closes at 8pm though I think, so you may need to bare that in mind.

Run by a friendly hindu family who were very helpful with allergy issues.
All the usual Indian fried snack foods and more... pakoras, samoosas, vadas etc served with dipping sauces (the tamarind sauce was nice).
It was pleasant enough but nothing to write home about.

Pros: relaxed, friendly
Cons: Very basic

I've been to Anand's a few times now and it's definitely one of my favourite places to get Asian food from. They have a selection of pakoras, samosas, battered vegetables, sweets and other deli items (full of deep fried goodness!) which are paid by weight, so you can easily get a big takeway box for under a fiver.

Anand's also has a eat-in menu with curries and some Indian specialties (my Indian mate who helped translating everything said they were very authentic), which was really good, too (and cheap, 3-4 pounds for a curry). Very hot for my taste though, but I normally don't eat very spicy food. It's not exactly a great place to eat in, as it is just like a take away, but we went with a large group and had quite a bit of fun there. It's a family business, so there's always kids running around and you never know who might serve you - but the staff are always very friendly and helpful.

I don't know how much of the food is vegan though.

Pros: tasty, cheap
Cons: bit chaotic, interior not too great
