Review: The staff at Dodson's is extremely friendly. A cute guy even carried my groceries to my car for me! You never see that done anymore.

This was my first health food/organic grocery store to ever visit. They don't have much produce, unfortunately, but they do have a lot of frozen vegan meals that are great for taking to work. Of course, it all costs more than a regular grocery store, and you can find some stuff at Target - like good cereal, and Boca brand "meat." I also don't have time to go to the organic grocery stores in Oklahoma City, so Dodson's is great to go to. And they have dairy free margarine! I was so excited to see it! They also have some cool vegan cookies & some vegan and vegetarian soups. There was so much food for me to be able to eat compared to the food at Walmart.

They also have a whole aisle dedicated to pills. I'm not interested in it, but oh well.

Pros: friendly staff * vegan cookies * frozen vegan meals
Cons: not much produce * high prices * too many pills

Review: Avoid Dodson's Nutritional Food Center in Norman, Oklahoma.

Dodson's has over-priced products, a poor selection, poor produce, limited supplements, and rude service. That, combined with the Baptist Church propaganda all over the store, makes for an unpleasant shopping experience.

You are better off shopping at GNC in Sooner Mall or The Earth on Asp in Norman.

Review: The thing I hate about Oklahoma is how hard pressed one is to find decent and/or organic produce. Dodson's is a case in point, they usually have lettuce, apples, oranges, bananas, potatoes, onions and some really horribly overprices strawberries or cranberries during the holidays--$7 for a small package. However, I love that Dodson's has a ton of vegetarian staples like Soyatoo whipped cream, tahini, flax oil and Kombucha--trust me these are rarities in this god-forsaken meat-eating truck-driving state. So, yay for places like Dodson's! Plus, the staff is WAY nice and they take special orders for which they sell to you at cost--awesome! I just wish they didn't sell animal carcasses next to my amy's frozen pizzas and tofutti cuties.

Pros: good variety * healthy cuisine * friendly staff
Cons: horrible store hours * sells dead animals & by products * hardly any produce
