Review: KL is the gourmet paradise of S/E Asia, probably the only veggie one, & Fatt Yan's delivers. Unfortunatly for them, being utterly spoilt for choice in KL downgrades it a little: it's great but everywhere except the Wood's chain is! The place needs a lick of paint, but the staff are lovely, & if you think it looks a little pricey relativly, wait till you see the size of the portions. Yes, those KL families are crammed in there for a reason. Be warned, do not over-order!
Pros: huge portions * location *
Cons: decor * * |

Review: I called up b4 going to Chinatown. Didn't end up in Fatt Yan as the street foods in Chinatown were fantastic! Fatt Yan has changed their location to No.23 instead of the previous No.57-59. They open daily from 10am-10pm and were closed on SAT.

Cons: * * |

Review: Happened to stumble across this place while looking for another restaurant, and even my omnivore friends loved it! We ordered a variety of mock meat dishes and some spring rolls, all of which were amazing. They use a lot of ginger in their dishes which I love. Definitely recommend this place!
Pros: friendly staff * lots of protein options * clean
Cons: * * |

Review: Fabulous dishes to start with--I love their glutinous rice, baozi (chicken soy and bbq buns), saucy fish dish, and etc. We went there like 3-4 times a week while we are staying in Chinatown for a week! It's a must to go, for a vegans like me!!
check out my mouth watering photos above!!!
Pros: Fabulous Food * Good value * Friendly women staff
Cons: Closed on some Weekend Hours * No napkins * |

Review: We were very excited about Fatt Yan, as their mock meats were supposed to be exceptionally good. Our initial excitement literally fell off the plate after we ordered a "set meal", with rice, a vegetable and a "spicy beef" that we saw another customer eating. This was really not good. All the items were cold, and the beef was not particularly tasty. The soup that came along was tasteless. Thankfully, the meal was saved (and then some) by the two fantastic a la carte dishes that we ordered, which were freshly prepared and piping hot. The spare ribs were phenomenal, reminding me of the days when I ate these for real many years ago. We also ordered a simple mixed vegetables, and it was superb - these are amazingly hard to find, believe it or not, as most of these sorts of dishes tend to be oily and not enjoyable. The vegetables here were crisp and really flavourful. I would return to this restaurant but stick to the a la carte selections which are freshly prepared, even though they are slightly more expensive.
Pros: great prepared food * clean *
Cons: not helpful staff * cold set menu food * no towels in bathroom |

Review: it's over 6 years since i was last here, and little has changed, inluding the decor. the good news is that the food is still good. the english language menu may be a bit tatty, but the owner will always recommend dishes for you. specializing in mock dishes, there is an extensive range. there are also plenty of bean curd and veg dishes also. food is cooked to order and tastes fresh. dishes cost betweem myr8 and myr14 (between 1.5 to 3 quid). there are also set menus avaialble, and a wide selection of soups.
Pros: tasty tasty * nice staff * LARGE MENU
Cons: * * |

Review: We managed to check out about 5 vegetarian places on our recent trip to KL. For Fatt Yan was the best both in value and in quality.
Check out the Fried "Goose", and the wontons. They also have a good range of veggie products for sale.
Pros: great food * good price * clean
Cons: * * |

Review: First - this restaurant is at 23 jalan Tun H.S. Lee, they are one block down the street from their old address. I've eaten at this place approx 10 times, trying different dishes & quality & taste have always been excellent. It's so good that I keep going back there rather than trying anywhere else in KL (visiting for one week).
The owner is very nice & has recommended a couple of daily specials that were outstanding. It's a two level restaurant & can get very busy at lunchtime. I have seen them do a lunchtime buffet but I haven't tried that. There is a toilet upstairs with toilet paper.
Pros: Food * Friendly * It's in KL
Cons: * * |

Review: Yeah their toilet is kinda..., well they just have to learn from McD don't they??
But despite this, i always loves their bean curd rice, and i won't miss it whenever i have chance to drop by near there..
Others foods are ok too, just they need to work on their washroom area..
Btw, it was fun to watch the tv while having meal, lol.
Pros: Nice food * *
Cons: nasty washroom * * |

Review: Lots of dishes with chicken/fish but only in the name not the food.
portion was okay and the place was cleaner than most in the area.
My friend used the toilet, no toilet paper - you have to use your hand which I guess is common but I prefer paper.
-Baza
Pros: tasty * good ambience *
Cons: THE TOILET * some dishes a bit pricey * white rice |
