Review: Took in this place over the weekend - the buffet, not the a la carte - and I have to be honest; I was slightly taken aback, if not shocked at the final bill. Not having visited this upholstered place previously - nor inclined to visit again - the individual menu may (or may not) tally up the same.
However, if you're just feeling a tad peckish rather than famished; a single plate with a few tiny spoonfuls all that's required to offset your stomach pangs, then I'd suggest you go elsewhere. We arrived early on the Sunday, with the waitress kindly informing us when the buffet dishes would be set out and ready. The choice is good; plain and pilau rices, several different sorts of curry; dosas, and a salad bar. But again not the greatest value if you're a tiny eater.
Pros: Quiet location * Comfortable chairs * Good transport links
Cons: Price * Round the neuk from a roadkill place * Opposite a flesh restaurant |

Review: As you go down Ballards Lane north from Finchley Central tube right on to Long Lane, you will see red awnings with "Rani" and "Vegetarian" emblazoned on them.
Décor is pleasant, with a black and red colour scheme. The buffet is situated in its own area to the left as you walk in.
There is a range of starters, mains and afters. Most of it is vegan and everything is labeled to indicate whether it is. The food was good and wait staff checked and refreshed it regularly.
Service was polite and attentive. Plates had to be replaced at every trip to the buffet as their policy was for people to use new plates for every trip.
If you are going for a regular meal instead of a massive quantity, and you want a particular dish you will do as well to order from the a la carte menu as it will work out the same as the buffet cost wise. At around ₤15 a head with drinks and service for one for dinner it is more than your average curry house, but the quality is better.
I guess it's more than a four for me, especially as they have been awarded five stars for hygiene by the local environmental health department, which is a great achievement, especially for a buffet restaurant.
Pros: Quality food * good hygiene * mostly vegan
Cons: * * |

Review: Been visiting this restaurant for about 20 years and it just gets better and better.
Whilst a little more expensive than some vegetarian restaurants, the buffet is fantastic and means you can try a variety of different dishes.

Review: Actually, the best Indian vegetarian food I've found anywhere - different in style from most others (Gujerati, I think). The buffet 7.0 - 9.0 daily and 1.0 - 2.30 Sunday is particularly good value.

Cons: * * |
