A great little gem in Falmouth
Posted on 10 / 22 / 2009We haven't been to the vegetarian BBQ nights at Coonamessett Farm yet, as it seems like the offerings are more vegetarian than vegan. We have, however, stopped in for lunch at the cafe. It was a great experience. We sampled the soups of the day (the white bean + greens soup was especially great) and got two vegan sandwiches (which was decent enough). Be sure to ask for no cheese and no mayonnaise, as it seems like these are standard offerings of the various veggie burgers and vegetarian sandwiches offered. We ate our lunch at a covered picnic table in the back with full view of the farm. While we were there, the alpacas were getting their daily exercise and socialization. They were being walked around the property by farm workers. This is a great little spot in Falmouth. We look forward to attending a vegetarian BBQ sometime if it seems like there will be enough vegan options.
Pros: scenic location, great soups, nice offeringsCons: veg BBQ nights are not 100% vegan
