Nice Whole Foods located in East Liberty. Interestingly enough, it is one of a handful of Whole Foods that routinely offer prepared vegetarian and vegan foods. If you visit the Burgh and are vegetarian/vegan visit it for a quick lunch. It is accessible by bus or car and there is off street parking available in their lot.
Pros: healthy food, good value, nice locationTo echo the reviews below, this location is not the largest or the greatest...but it's the only Whole Foods for hundreds of miles. I had to stop here to get a few vegan items for a meal, so it was convenient. They do still carry the vegan popcorn chicken along with several vegan prepared ready-to-go foods. They also had a vegan tapioca pudding made by a company in Canada...it was horrible, so I wouldn't bother with that vegan novelty.
They have this mock vegan popcorn chicken at there salad bar wish is soo awesome! Can get expensive but its so worth it. Its addicting and if u really love it they can sell it to u in bulk! I love this place cuz u can shop for all the vegan things u need plus some and then have dinner there also.
not a very good whole foods store but i've been to worse. The hot food and salad bar needs improvement and since its pittsburgh you cant but wine or beer at the store.
i was living in pittsburgh when this store opened. i was used to the really big whole foods like i'd had when living in california. the store was tiny, workers not super nice, hours not as good as all over WF stores i'd been to... deli was so so and last i was there NO juice bar! (they said there hadn't been room when they built it - it was so small) tiny parking lot too. not for me. i'd go the co op down the street with better products, food and a full juice bar!

Although the co-op does offer some different things than Whole Foods, there /are/ less people in PA than CA so it's only to be assumed that the store will probably be smaller. I would hardly consider this a factor in a review. If it was one of two in the same general area I would agree with you, however, it's the only one within at least a few hours drive. I do agree that the service left something to be desired. However, 2 out of 3 of the other Whole Foods I've been to don't have a juice bar. I wasn't surprised that this one was any different.
