Review: I love the co-op. Yes, you can get the same foods for less at Wegmans or Tops, but money spent at the co-op is money that will stay in Buffalo and support local businesses and farmers. I don't mind paying more for a good cause. They have great sales and coupons, too. You just have to keep an eye out. The produce section is small, but they have a good variety for the size. The other sections - especially the bulk foods - are fantastic. All those obscure ingredients in exotic vegan recipes that you've never heard of before? You can find them here. The hot bar usually has a vegan selection, and the prepared foods and bakery have many vegan choices. (You can get a calendar in the hot bar that will list the foods available on certain days.) I just love this place. I go there all the time.
Pros: Selection * Prepared foods * Good cause
Cons: * * |

Review: This coop infuriates me daily. They frequently have little to no vegan options at the hot bar. They charge you more for vegan baked goods. They have a poor selection of organic produce. Everything is priced significantly higher than elsewhere like Wegmans or other stores. It is overpriced for a coop, and extremely overpriced for the Buffalo market. The staff are either really terrific or completely miserable. It's a shame that it is one of the only options in the city, but eventually some chain store will move in and drive them out of business.
Pros: location * open hours *
Cons: few organic selections * prices * prepared food selection |

Review: I have to say, Lexington Coop is absolutely fantastic. The prices are reasonable, the benefits of becoming a member-owner are great, the store is clean, the employees are so friendly. If you need something they don't have they do special ordering, they have a huge selection of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as local and organic produce. It's the only place we shop at!
Pros: Wonderful Selection * Clean, friendly atmosphere * Involved in the local community
Cons: Can't think of a single one. * * |

Review: The Co-op is recently updated and looking good. They often have the best sale prices on veg'n food in the area and they have great local and organic produce. The co-op also has a hot foods/salad bar that typically features at least two vegan dishes and several more vegetarian dishes. Their prepared foods tend to be a little bland and sometimes the presentation isn't so great though. Also it looks like they recently added some outdoor seating, so that's a nice plus for the summer weather if people are buying foods off the hot bar.
Pros: Hot food bar * Bathrooms *
Cons: Hard to turn left out of * the parking lot * |

Review: This place has a great vibe and is reasonably priced - though I haven't been in 14-15 years. (crikey! i'm old and i'm just turning 22 next month). My friends in b-lo always have positive things to say about this place.
