Review: I have eaten at this place several times since it is one of the few vegetarian restaurants in Copenhagen. I'm vegan and it's exceptionally hard if I want to go out to eat.
Everytime I eat at this place,I feel that I'm getting ripped off. The food is too expensive for the quality. Often the beans are undercooked, the hummus is flavorless and everything I could make myself at home.
The last time I went there,a few weeks ago,my husband and I were sitting at the table right next to where they prepare food. We watched as the food preparer took someone's money, with her bare hands, handled a credit card machine, and then went right back to making the food, with out washing her hands. I had a hard time eating. If we hadn't been in such a hurry I would've complained. I wish I had, since this act is unbelievably unsanitary.
I don't know if some restaurants,in Denmark, think that they don't have to abide by the health and sanitation laws, and that's why they don't press on the staff to clean their hands. I work for a sandwich company.I only make sandwiches and I wear gloves. Other than that, everything we have, there,is prepared elsewhere, and I have to take a hygiene course and learn about things like washing hands and such.
As a New Yorker, living in Denmark, maybe I'm overly critical, especially since it's really expensive to eat out. I was also a waitress for many years in NYC so I'm very picky about the service. Sadly,Denmark's restaurants have never served me good food with good service,so it's very rare that I eat out. When I do,I'm often leaving upset and the most often I leave disgusted, upset and offended is when I've even at Den Grønne Kælder.
Pros: in the city * has vegan options * good tea
Cons: food badly seasoned and prepared * bad service * too expensive for the food |

Review: This was one of the first veggie places I visited abroad and I have some good memories of the Green Cellar. The food is standard cold buffet and self service fayre (salads, pulses, quiches, burgers etc) but it's homely and tasty. Small seating area on the lower ground floor with windows so you can see street level so it's not out of sight of the beautiful Copenhagen streetlife outside. If you are in this fabulous city then you must some here for a daytime meal or an early evening bite.
Pros: cosy * rustic *
Cons: variety of food * * |

Review: Though I hear not great things about this reaturant I decided to go since my other choice was not open.
We arrived just before 8pm and had to wait only 5 to 10 minutes for a table. Make sure when you have choosen you order that you close your menu or they will take a long time to sak for you order.
There are only 3 warm dishes that are vegan, thai curry, mexican lasange and spaghetti bologense.
There are around 8 salads.
The salads are very simple, grated carrot with lemon dressing, bean salad with dressing, green salad and beetroot salad.
The varity is small.
My partner ordered pasta and I had thai curry. The pasta was cold at the bottom and the curry was okay.
Expensive for microwaved good and very simple salads.
Best to go to lunch since its cheaper and the same food.
There are better options in copenhagen, even organic good options.
Pros: vegan food * organic *
Cons: Microwave used * limited menu * unfriendly staff |

Review: i always go to Den Grønne Kælder when i copenhagen, and i like it very much. it is great for a romantic dinner. their hummus is fantastic! the butter sometimes served with the bread is not vegan. big portions, you won't leave hungry.
on the cons, the service is a little lacking and they won't seem to know what's vegan and what's not behind the counter. be on the safe side and order something from the menu instead. everything is clearly labelled in the menu.
definitely the best vegetarian restaurant in town!
Pros: best veg i town * great hummus *
Cons: service * everything isn't vegan * |

Review: I would not recommend this place, their food is very seventies style vegetarian and they heat up their hot dishes in the microwave.... why....?
I think the only reason why this place still exists is because of the fact that there's only one other vegetarian restaurant, that serves dinner, in all of Copenhagen.
I've tried it tree times and i'm pretty certain that i won't venture back. I'd rather eat a can of peas, same level of tastyness....
I'm only giving it to *stars*, because u can't rate it any lower.
Pros: vegetarian * someward organic *
Cons: tasteless * * |

Review: Was here in September 2007. This places is certainly the only all vegetarian food restaurant in the city centre of Copehagen. Has been serving veggie food for over 10 years. The menu prices are affordable for Copenhagen where everything is very expensive.
All the food varieties available for the day are displayed in a glass deli case. The salad items available on the day we visited were: grated beet salad, hummus, penne pasta, wheat berry salad, cabbage salad. The main dishes available were: penne pasta, couscous, lasgna, and veggie pattie. For the hot foods, the server will heat it up in a microwave before bringing it to your table.
My husband and I opted for each a combination plate of salad items. We always prefer to eat food without microwave heating; otherwise, we would have chosen some main dishes. We placed our order at the counter and the food was brought to our table. Good size portions and good taste.
Pros: casual * fast service * many choices
Cons: uses microwave * * |

Review: this restaurant was a wonderful find in a world of herring... the prices were reasonable for a healthy meal (50kr-110kr) and the choices were limited but surely one can find something to their liking. i went there twice & noted that the same food tasted different, like it was made by someone else.
Pros: healthy foods * more or less bilingual *
Cons: inconsistent recipes * * |

Review: Decent food and centrally located just off the bottom of the main shopping drag in CPH. It could be open longer hours.
Pros: Good food * location *
Cons: Could be open later * * |
