This is a great farmer's market with a wide range of seasonal, organic produce. Be sure to check out Donna's tamales - they are all either vegetarian or vegan. You purchase them hot and ready to eat; there is also a wide range of salsa's and condiments for a topping.

I happened to run in to this place and decided to get some fresh fruit for snacks later in the evening. I thought this farmer's market was very pricey, they were charging almost $5 a pound for grapes, my goodness! Go to Whole Foods instead.

This farmers market is located in front of the Ferry Building on the Embarcadero at the foot of Market Street. It occurs three days a week: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-2, and Saturdays 8-2. The Saturday market is larger, most of the offerings are organic and local, and there are cooking demos with recipes available on Saturdays.
