Review: My girlfriend and I always go here when we're in santa cruz. I love indian food, and while this defainately isn't "authentic", you're fake smiles aren't either. They have very very affordable prices, and you get a good amount with the food. It's a very small space, but very welcoming. Samosas and Masala Dosas are always my favorites.
Pros: Cheap * Good *
Cons: Sun will kill you if you hate it like me * * |

Review: Went here with someone who doesn't like Indian food--it was the only vegetarian place open at the time (I think it was a holiday weekend).
I ordered a vegan meal; it was so tasty that even my Indian-food-averse dining companion liked it, so he ordered his own. Great food, wonderful spicy aroma.

Review: I had the mysore dosa. It was really not very good. If not for the coconut chutney (I'm not sure this is the correct name of the sauce that goes with it), it would have been really boring. The salad on the side had nice fresh vegetables, but the dressing wasn't very flavorful. The best thing I can say is that I was full and I did not get sick but I didn't enjoy my meal.
Pros: good value * nice seating area * clean
Cons: bland food * * |

Review: Don't expect authentic Indian food, but if you want cheap Americanized versions of Southern Indian food, this is the place. Meals for under $6. If you get anything to go, double check your bag because the staff forgets things (such as the main dish) 90% of the time. Just a forewarning, it truly is a hole in the wall - just the rented kitchen of a dance studio that often has drumming so loud you can't hear anyone speak.
Pros: cheap * organic *
Cons: staff gets order wrong * not authentic * noisy |
