We rolled in just before 4:00 on a Monday afternoon, hungry from hiking and swimming, only to find the deli case empty. Luckily the staff was there to make us some sandwiches as we looked for other meal ideas. We weren’t able to find much (What, no hummus?) so we moved on to the other natural food store in town.
Pros: Accommodating staff, Not busyI shopped both Kona Natural and popular Island Naturals during my stay. They are unique -- the latter a little fancier. Btu Kona Natural definitely had better prices on the same product(s). Also they are located next to a nice Safeway, just in case you need to run to the big chain for basic staples. I found a tofu dip in the refrigerated section here that I enjoyed on vegan crackers as a snack. Go here for the prices ... go to Island Naturals "to be seen."
Pros: Location, Prices, VarietySince there aren't any veggie restaurants in Kona, we stocked up here for our condo vacation rental. They had everything we needed for our week stay.
Pros: vegan items, easy parkingIf you are looking for a vegan sandwich then this is a good choice and actually the only choice in the area.
