Review: Having a veg buffet in a busy crazy city was nice! It was upstairs in a large seating area. The first time we went there were several vegan options, the second time didn't seem to be as many. I was still fed well though. My husband, who speaks Spanish, says that the jello looking dessert was of the cow hoof variety. I think he asked. All in all it was a nice place to sit down and eat.
Pros: big seating area and quite * plenty to fill up on * clean
Cons: use caution with the jello * lots of dairy items * |

Review: This is a good option in the touristy microcenter.
Food is buffet style, but I found it a bit bland (except for the tofu schnitzel). Not bad overall.
30 pesos is good price, but Spring seems less expensive and better quality.
Pay as you enter. Open for lunch only.
Pros: location * *
Cons: hours * * |

Review: I have been three times to Argentina in the last 5 years and have eaten at Granix each time. It has always had a very good variety of both self-service savoury dishes and desserts and found that because there were so many options I usually left not needing any later meal for those days. The last visit was in early last month (June) and would always recommend it. It is reliably 100% vegetarian.
Pros: Consistent * Good Food * Central
Cons: Lunch Time Only * * |

Review: Granix, down town BA, is a thrill. Abundant buffets, good food, great choice and very decent prices: End November 2007 25 pesos for lunch that is € 5.50. Try to get that in Europe and tell me the spot!

• hi Dr. Nielsweid, I found your review very helpful. When I was in B.A. it was so expensive and hard to find a good place to eat. This sounds like quite a deal to me.. response by Jeffrey

Review: There's a big selection of food here--salads, soups, main dishes, deserts. A lot of stuff is ovo-lacto, though vegans can find some good finds too. A few foods that are not typically encountered by "Norteamericanos" were in the buffet, including cooked breadfruit. There were abundant pasta and rice dishes. The food wasn't particularly spicy...that's probably the biggest disadvantage...and dinner hours might be nice too.
Pros: big selection * some unusual dishes * good location
Cons: not spicy enough * only lunch hours * |

Review: There are 2 sections to the restaurant; all you can eat for 20 pesos, and a takeout area where food is sold by weight. If you take out, there are no tables anywhere nearby to sit and eat. The buffet includes salad, entrees, dessets and drinks. I found the food to be lacking in flavor and the price is high for Buenos Aires, but a good value if you eat a lot. I don't think they add any salt during cooking. The dining room is large, nice and air conditioned. Located in a shopping mall right on the Florida pedestrian street. When inside the mall, look for an alcove that says "Edificio Mitre" and walk up a flight of stairs to the restaurant. Open only Monday through Friday for lunch from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Pros: Location * Variety *
Cons: Lack of flavor * Relatively high price * |
