Review: ....so in the health food world we eat veg, organic etc. because it is healthier for us? am i right? so when cooking food depletes the nutritional value as much as 50%...nuking it ups that to about 80%...turning you food into filler not nutritional goodness...join most of the restuarant world and reheat your goods in a oven or on a skillet.
Pros: great tasting everything * farely priced *
Cons: the microwave * staff doesn't know how to work oven * unhealthy health food? |

Review: There are lots of vegan treats here ....try the vegan macaroons they are to die for. They have a great hot bar with a few vegan options each day and they also have a salad bar. They have sandwiches as well which are great the Vegan Club is amazing and huge so plan on sharing it with someone or savings some for later.
Pros: great food * vegan treats * friendly staff
Cons: small * * |

Review: I stopped in to Stone Soup when I was in town, and was pleased to find the word "vegan" was actually in the local vocabulary (not so where I'm from!). I ordered the seitan steak sandwich and my boyfriend got the vegan club, and my friend went for the buffet. The seitan is excellent, and the bread is just awesome. My friend enjoyed the jamaican tempeh on the buffet so much (she's not even vegetarian). The chocolate cake was also quite good. We were very pleased with the prices, food selections, and friendliness of the staff. The sandwiches came about 15 minutes after ordering but worth the wait. It was quite hot in there on a summer day as there is no air conditioning, but you quickly forget about the temperature after taking a bite of the food. My only disappointment was they had no vegan pizza left, and said they had it daily but when I went back another day they said they decided not to make it that day :-(
Pros: Vegan selection * Price * Buffet
Cons: Wait time * Daily selection varies * No air conditioning |

Review: I've dined at Stone Soup many times over the past few years. The buffet is always colorful and sumptuous with more than a handful of vegan options. I am very careful to select lots of lightweight items so that my meal will not be overly expensive. The steamed Kale is always fresh, delicious and attractive with its bright green aura. The staff are very helpful and eager to please. The tables and dining area can become communal during peak hours so if you are looking for an intimate experience, this will not fit the bill.
Pros: variety * friendliness * color
Cons: limited seating * pricey if you are not careful * |

Review: Good food, nice staff, self serve buffet. Great desserts.
It's nice to be able to see the cooks at works, too.
It can be hard tofind a place to sit when it is crowded. The by the pound food buffet price can add up quickly .
Pros: tasty food * nice staff * healthier desserts
Cons: pricey * crowded * |

Review: a hot buffet with usualy several vegan options. its pay by weight so be careful. just go in, grab a plate/silverware, heap what you want on and then pay the cashier. they also have a decent selection of sandwichs and stuff. i tried a couple vegan baked things which were okay except for the pecan scone... now i will eat the worst food imaginable, but this scone was unbearable... dry, flavorless, a challenge to get yourself to take another bite, it totally ruined my love for the pecan. i actually carried around this scone with me for days wrapped in a paper towel, cause after being vegan for six years this i think was the first thing i dont think i could finish and i didnt want to believe it. you might be able to find some really good stuff at one of the best co-op markets around the corner.
Pros: * *
Cons: * * |

Review: Very Good food, in a casual, sometimes crowded, noisy atmosphere. Food quality is high, but the price can really add up since it is by the pound. Not a place to go for ambience. It is nice to be able to sample several different things from the menu.
The best vegan brownies ever!
Pros: quality food * diverse choices * casual
Cons: no ambience * noisy at times * food by the pound pricey |

Review: The soups, breads, and vegan options here are very nice and hearty, and the workers are very friendly. We liked watching the activities in the open kitchen, too. The only thing we don't like is that Stone Soup is closed on Sundays. Recommended!
Pros: Tasty food * Nice staff * Open kitchen
Cons: Closed Sundays * * |
