Review: I love the Good Food Store's heat & eat black bean/sweet potato burritos! Vegan, no cheese (not even rice cheese) which is great.

During the winter I've been known to grab a big bowl of one of their soups too, just based on the smell in the store. They almost always have a vegetarian or vegan option.

They have a lot of groceries for special diets, so if you're in Bethel it's really the only place to get something gluten-free, or vegan....

The salads are always fresh, and custom sandwiches are all made to order. They use great breads (Borealis, and their own ciabatta, etc) so don't be afraid to give them a try. Daily special sandwiches are pretty creative, and they'll make them veg or vegan if you ask. The locals all know this is the best place for a really good lunch take-out ;)

(They have homemade pies on the weekends too.)

And the big "not-to-miss" is a huge homemade pumpkin whoopie pie (not vegan, but I used to eat them all the time when I was plain vegetarian)

Some veg people may be turned off by BBQ Bob's trailer and BBQ smoker in the parking lot, but I say "let them eat meat" if they want. My carnivore friends seem to really love it. So if you're traveling with meat-eaters, they'll be happy here too, which is a good thing.

Pros: Take Out, to your specs * Heat & Eat, saves making it yourself * You wouldn't expect this in a small town
