Review: We ate here two weeks ago and loved it. After pounding the pavements looking for a suitable place to eat, I opted for Maoz Felafel, and wasn't disappointed.
The felafels are very tasty, the pitas soft and fresh and some of the best hummus I have eaten. The only drawback was that there was limited seating and since the felafels are slightly messy to eat, it made it a bit more difficult to eat them.
Staff appeared disinterested.
Pros: tasty food * cheap * good value
Cons: poor service * * |

Review: The concept is very simple, a buffet from which you can either fill a pita bread or compose a salad. I find the food tasty and the selection of ingredients is good, however bear in mind that the food is uncovered so if you are picky about hygiene you probably won't like it. From what I've seen the servers always seem uninterested and bored, but basically all they do for you is give you your pita bread and collect your money. Cheap veggie fast food, nothing too sophisticate.
Pros: * *
Cons: * * |

Review: To my horror I watched as sneezing, grubby, nose picking, olive pit spitting customer after customer bring up their half eaten pita and spoon more toppings and squirt more sauces on their half eaten food. Cross contamination from hands, buffet utensils, money, the person behind the counter is rampant. The man behind the counter takes your $ bare handed, handles your pita bread, then uses the public buffet tongs to move around the fillings. He also had no idea which ones where or were not vegan. I don't recommend eating here unless you are homeless.
Pros: * *
Cons: germs * cross contamination * no vegan knowledge |

Review: We ate at Maoz twice and it was sooooo good. A great concept that I wish would come to the States. You get the basic w/ just Falafel and lettus in a pita and you can put as much fixings as you want on it for less then 5 euros.
The first time we went we just loaded up and walked to where we were heading. But the 2nd time we ate it there and kept going back up to the bar to reload as a pita can only hold so much! I think most if not all of the fixing were vegan, except for two of the dressings.
This location has limited seating, more of a take out. It's located 1/2 block north of the Boqueria market. I'm not sure of the hours but they seemed to be open all the time were other places close between lunch and dinner.
Pros: I Love Falafel!! * Steady Hours *
Cons: None! Loved IT!! * * |

Review: This is really handy, being about halfway up Las Ramblas (I think, from memory). The falafels are really moist, as they're freshly done (unlike some of the awful offerings you get which are all dry). You get loads of salads (and cooked toppings also) which you can help yourself to, either in pitta or in a container. The place is 100% vegetarian, and the woman working there when we first went spoke good English and was able to tell us what was vegan (most of it).
The price was good too - I think it was about 6 Euros for falafels in pitta, with chips and a drink.
The down side of it is that you need about 6 hands if you order a drink and/or chips as well, as you can't put the pitta down anywhere without spilling it all. There are handy little holes in the counters where you can fit your cone of chips but nowhere for the pitta and no plates.
Pros: Moist falafels * Delicious food * Good value
Cons: Food is tricky to eat without spilling i * * |

Review: so ive been to the paris and madrid chain
what is best about this maoz is that they have the best salad bar and most options to put in your pita they have sweet potatoes and cous cous which i have not seen at the other chains of maoz in paris and madrid , and they have the little forks that make it alot easier to eat your food with out wearing most of it on your face. i did witness a fight were a guy almost through a chair over the counter , this is definetly the most crazy maoz of the lot but the sweet potatoes and cous cous win me over that make me miss the salad bar here . they seem to have to shut down ever so often to sweep the floor which is no good when you wnat more salad bar,
Pros: sweet potoes * cous cous *
Cons: falfel fight * crazy people throwing chairs * |

Review: perfect for starving vegans, this place lets you fill up either a plastic container or a pita bread pocket with a wide range of delectable toppings and extras. You select your container (bread or plastic, and say if you want any extra dip (eg hummous or guacamole), and they supply the container half filled with lettuce, about 3 big falafel balls and your extra dip, if you ordered it, then let you cram in the rest from a smorgasbord. For this you pay between 4 and 5 euros depending on extras. The tahini sauce is dairy-free, but obviously the tzatziki is dairy yoghurt-based. A great deal in a convenient location, especially if you're with a party of people out for a walk and a munch.
Pros: Cheap * filling * convenient
Cons: no proper tables * messy (esp for kids!) * not fully vegan |

Review: Maoz always does the trick on a short city break. The falafel is great and the saff always nice as well. good selection of salad. The biggest issue is the size, it's too small for it's location, and getting served can be a long process at certain times. worth th visit though.
Pros: falafel * good staff * quick
Cons: nowhere to eat * * |

Review: Well, the falafel is delicous as usual, though some of the staff here seems disinterested in being helpful. Two different times I asked for wheat pita and both times I was given white. And one time there was a misunderstanding about what was ordered, and instead of trying to figure it out and correct it, the guy taking the order got cocky. Would go again, but hopefully someone else would be working. Also very crowded.
Pros: Great food. * Great location *
Cons: Cocky staff * Crowded * |

Review: I've eaten in this branch of Maoz on many a happy occaission. It is located bang on La Rambla very slightly up the hill from Placa Reial. Great tasting food, speedy service, I've never had any problems. I'm surprised at the other comment about staff adding tahini as any time I have been (and that's a lot) all the offerings in the salad bar are self service. Good opening hours also.
Pros: Great food * Great location * Bargain prices
Cons: None * * |
