No fresh produce, but otherwise decent selection
Posted on 09 / 17 / 2011Sunflower Shoppe has been around for a long while and has expanded. Nearly half the store is dedicated to vitamins, supplements, hygiene and beauty products, and the other half is well stocked with natural foods, including many organic and vegan products. There's a small bulk section and a very good selection of whole-grain dry goods (like wheat-free pastas), but there's no fresh produce and the refrigerated foods section is limited (e.g. a few kinds of tofu but no tempeh). Ingredients for international cuisine are also extremely limited. There's also a small deli case with, among other things, vegan tamales.
Prices for some items are a little on the high side - in some cases more than i'm used to paying at natural foods stores in other parts of the country.
There's ample parking.
Pros: good selection of organic dry goods, bulk sectionCons: higher-than-average prices, sells meat, no fresh produce
