Review: don't be fooled! They do not use vegan bread, vegan soy "cheese" or have any tasty vegan deserts. Going to Tommy's is no different than searching for vegan options at any other burger restaurant. They even sneak dairy based mayo into their tofu "egg" salad. Their cookies taste like a rice cake dipped in sugar. Worst thing I've ever eaten. ever. My advice is just go to Mongolian BBQ down the street. at least there you know what you are putting into your meal and that it is being cooked separately from meat!

Review: I used to live right behind Tommy's, and I never got sick of it. Everything they do, they do well. The MR3 spinach pie is the best single menu item on the planet. One of the few things to miss about Cleveland when you are living somewhere else. They have meat stuff too, making it a good place to drag the meat eating relatives when trying to gently dose them with lefty culture. However, the veggie items are where they shine - many things that don't exist anywhere else.
Pros: the coolest place in Northeast Ohio * *
Cons: gotta wait sometimes * serves meat * |

Review: Tommy's has been the most popular restaurant in the Coventry area for decades. They have great salads, soups and veggie-friendly middle eastern foods, but their baked spinach pies are by far the draw for me. You can get a pie with many, many combinations of psinach, baba, hummus, veggies, cheese, sprouts, BBQ sauce and more. I recommend the Paisano. They also have a nice selection of tea and smoothie options, plus wicked desserts. Tommy's is located on Coventry Street, an area that is unfortunatly undergoing gentrification, but is still a fun place to shop and goof off.
Pros: Spinach pies * Salads * Spiked hummus
Cons: Parking * * |
