great black bean patty sandwich (if they have it!)
Posted on 05 / 22 / 2012I visited Lubbock several times in the past few months, and visited this restaurant each time. My favorite came to be their black bean patty sandwich, with hummus added as the "sauce" (and then a variety of veggies/dressing/etc), with wheat bread toasted.
But unfortunately, when I was there this past weekend, they had a sign saying they were out of the black bean patty, and when I asked they weren't sure how long they'd be out (because their HQ kept changing the story). So if the black bean patty is what you're interested in, you may want to call ahead to find out if they'd got it back in stock!
There are so many options for each sandwich (or bowl), it may take you more than one visit to figure out the best way to "build" a sandwich or bowl by combining ingredients for your preferences. (The first time I visited I asked the staff for some recommendations, but I liked the same sandwich much better the second time when I tried other ingredients.)
The only sides they really offer are a variety of potato chips, including baked, but IMHO that's not enough variety.
If you're eating in, it's on ugly metal tables, with paper towels as the napkins. So you don't go there for classy atmosphere! :)
Pros: good value, friendly staff, big variety of sandwich ingredientsCons: takes time to learn to , only sides are potato chips, metal tables are ugly
