Has vegan options. Friendly and helpful staff. Directions: Follow Jalan Sultan around to the 7-11 and turn right at Jalan Tun H.S. Lee - the sign is a large reddish-maroon. Decor is upmarket. Price: Inexpensive more-less

Great food, bargain-basement prices

Shree Vithya Bhavan is one of a handful of super-cheap vegetarian Indian restaurants around Chinatown, only this venue looks so upmarket that I bypassed it until my last day in KL. The food is excellent; the staff friendly and helpful; and the prices identical to the smaller places in Lebuh Ampang and Brickfields. The main problem with the venue is that it is easy to miss.

Pros: Great food, large servings, friendly staff, central location
