Klemuri is located in one of the busiest areas of Istanbul just off the Taksim end of Istiklal street. The cafes and clubs nearby give a hint that this is something of the left-bank of Istanbul.
In keeping with this, Klemuri stands out from the crowd, offering a good alternative of more regional Turkish dishes, especially from the Black Sea areas. It's probably one of the best non-veggie veg. places in Istanbul - at least half of the menu is either Vegetarian or Vegan. I tried the Mediterranean plate which is an enjoyable combination of mezze style portions. Some highlights I found are the stuffed Aubergine dolmas, the hummus and pepper dish Muhammara, and variety of breads served with olive oil dip, including an unusual corn bread. The only negative here from the veg. point of view here is that most of the veg. dishes are mezze style although there is at least one pasta option.
Prices are not too bad - fairly average by Istanbul standards, and the inside decor and atmosphere is pleasant.Pros: Good quantity of veg. menu options, Interesting, enjoyable food, Central location
Cons: Some more hot dishes would be nice
