Cafe Maxsim is a small family-run bistro-style cafe/restaurant in the city centre, which serves a wide range of tapas/meze dishes at a very reasonable price (around £4-£5 per dish).
Almost half of the dishes on the menu are vegetarian, with a few vegan options, and some could be adapted for a veggie/vegan diet.
The food was served as and when it was cooked, and everything looked and tasted fresh and home made.
The owners are very friendly, and I'm sure it would be worth phoning in advance if you are vegan and want a wider selection of dishes.
The cafe is unlicenced, so you can take your own wine.
The cafe does serve meat/fish so this may be off-putting for some people, as you can smell the food cooking as you eat.Pros: freshly cooked food, good selection of veggie dishes, friendly staff
Cons: serves meat and fish
