Pros: good value, excellent food, friendly staffFriendly, helpful staff. There is a good selection of vegan options on themenu. The meal I had was excellent. I will be back.
Pros: good value, excellent food, friendly staffAuthentic South Indian food, as a vegan if you book ahead then they will make sure there is a dessert option.
Worth making a trip for the Dosa alone.
Reassurance that separate areas used in kitchen for meat/ meat free items.
Pros: Authentic food, FriendlyThe Dosa House is great for vegans, and is much more affordable than the many other restaurants on the adjacent Linthorpe Road. I know many veggies and vegans who eat here, and all return again and again for the great food and friendly service. The masala dosa is vegan, as is the coconut and peanut chutney and the sambar served with it, as well as the idli and sambar idli dishes. There are always three vegan curries, which change daily, which can be ordered as side dishes or as part of an andra meal (two curries, boiled rice and a poppadom). The staff here are all extremely friendly, and happy to explain the menu and various combinations. The lunch menu has both the masala dosa option and the mixed veg curry and rice. Such a great place - do visit and enjoy the yummy, filling food and the lovely staff.
Pros: Delicious vegan food, Really friendly staff, Affordable lunch and evening menuMe and my meat eating boyfriend both love this place we live locally and go for lunch regularly. In Middlesbrough choice of vegan food is pretty limited and this place is really accomodating they have lists up behind the counter for the staff who might not know what is and what isn't vegan and gluten free. You can see them cooking so know its all kept seperate etc. Lunch is simple vegetarian curry which is always vegan with dosa, rice or nan and a drink for £3.99 get the dosa they yum! On an evening they have 3 veggie curries which are usually all vegan but always have at least one vegan (and 3 meat) then you can choose accompniments such as dosas idils etc which are nearly all vegan with 1-3 curries. I suppose menu a little complicated but just ask and the tatse is so worth it. The 3 curries are south indian and change daily so not your usually curry house stuff things like fry's and manchurians. Flavours are excellent and you can even buy spice powders already made up. It's a totaly haven in a very limted Teesside and my meat eater boyf absolutely loves it too.
Pros: delcious, flavoursome, helpfull staff
