lacking in culinary prowess& open late! 1am

Best part is they're open late....1am every night =) this is the only late night food in sac that I know of so I'm thankful for the late snacks.

the potatoe tacos $2 looked great & after getting my vegeburger$9 I wished we had gotten a bunch of tacos & appitizers

The fried tofu w/ goddess dressing was the other & best thing we ordered

That said, the vegan bacon cheese bocabuger combo was not the best vegan burger. It was a bit plain, I don't think there was really veganaise (or mayo) the vegiebacon was overly hard krispy the cheeze was the gross yellow sliced vegan cheeze that I prefer least of vegan cheezes. The burger was worth $5 at the very most.

There was only one person working the kitchen so it took an hour to get food.

Pros: fried tofu w/ goddess $5, open late 1am, potatoe tacos $2
Cons: bacon cheeze bocaburger combo poopy $9, only 1 worker waited way too long for food, not a very creative food. goddess &bocaburger

Dissapointing

The employees were very nice and I appreciate the effort to provide vegan options, but keep in mind this is definitely an older, old-school type bar. From their website description I was under the impression it was a restaurant (although they do state it's inside a bar). It smells like smoke from people smoking just outside. Also, while the menu states "vegan" there are many meals listed with real cheese (so it's not vegan), so I don't think they know what "vegan" means. The chef, while friendly did not know the ingredients of the menu items, so I couldn't determine if other items were vegan or not (any dairy or eggs in the batter used on the fried zucchini, in the burger buns, etc.?).

Pros: Vegetarian Options, They're trying
Cons: Not Vegan as listed, Smokey environment, Not a restaurant

Beware!

Beware that this is a bar and the environment does not reflect the pictures on the website. The service was unprofessional and it didn't look very sanitary. The food was also dry and not tasty. I've frequented many Vegan eateries, most of which have been good but this was embarrassing. If you are taking a friend who has not eaten at a clean tasty vegan eatery before then you might not want to make this their first experience. First impressions are lasting!

Cons: smokers, noisy, dirty

The kitchen is located inside the Round Corner bar. How many times have you been out with friends and wished that you could get some vegan food at a local bar? Well if you are lucky enough to live in Sacramento now you can!! The menu has bar type food like vegan burgers, tacos, burritos etc... they also offer felafel, rice bowls, fried tofu sticks with peanut sauce etc... They cook the vegan food in separate areas on the grill and have a fryer just for the veggie food. Grab a drink, get some vegan food and watch whatever sports is playing on the tv.
The kitchen staff are really nice and the food is good.

Pros: vegan food, pool, good juke box
Cons: often sell out of veggie burgers, limited seating, people smoking outside the door

Must be 21 to enter

This establishment is very much a bar. It says right on the door as you go in "must be 21 to enter." The bartenders are very nice, but this is defiantly not a family setting. They have a couple of nice pool tables, dart boards, etc.

If the BBQ vs vegan is some kind of promotion, its one that im not aware of. Also the sign atop the building reads "Round Corner" as seen in my pic for this listing. The Downtown kitchen sign is a removable one they keep near the sidewalk. So keep an eye for the Round Corner sign when looking for this place.

They do have a separate menu for veggie/vegan food.
