Really yummy vegetarian falafels!

My mum and I were in Berlin for the Xmas markets and as we are vegetarian it was important to eat tasty nutritious food whilst away from home. This place serves delicious falafels and a variety of tasty toppings. It's relatively small and more like a take-away place but I'd say there is enough seating for around 8-10 people so it's not tiny either (a similar falafel place I went to in Paris only had seating for 3-4 people). It's a short walk from Nollendorfplatz on the metro so it's in a good and easy to find location.

Pros: good value, tasty

One of the best falafel places in Berlin

5 Posted on 01 / 21 / 2013

This is my living room really. The staff are so nice and friendly, it's like coming home every time, I think I'm going to have to get a flat more closer to this place. The restaurant is certified by the german vegetarian association. Most things are vegan - only 2 sauces and the coleslow isn't unfortunately but this is clearly indicated on the sign as "not vegan". I strongly recommend the Boussi Falafelteller - 5 Falafel balls and a big plate which you can fill with anything you fancy from the very tasty salad and vegetable buffet.

Pros: Friendly, Clean, mostly vegan
Cons: coleslough is not vegan, yoghurt sauce not vegan, humus is only a side dish

Excellent "buffet"

I've been here many times since it opened. I usually go when I'm really famished because they have a sort of buffet thing - you buy a falafel sandwich (white or wheat pita bread; 3 euros) or salad bowl with falafel balls (3,90 euros) as you base. Then you get your choice of items (self-serve) to put on top. The choice is usually pretty awesome because it ranges from typical toppings and sauces (tahini, spicy, tomato and cucumber) to various marinated veggies (carrots and cranberries, zucchini, onions, etc), couscous, and small cut potatoes. I especially find the sandwich - just 3 euros - to be a quite satisfying lunch or dinner. I have never tried the juices (they're kind of expensive) but they have regular bottled drinks and tea for about half the cost of those. If I'm starving when I arrive or sharing with others, I usually do an order of the (supposedly bio/organic) pommes (fries).

All that and the service is even nice and the place clean and usually quiet.

As the previous reviewer has said, it's amazing that this place is practically across the street from Baharat. IMO if you REALLY want just falafel, Baharat makes a better falafel ball so I would go there. If you're with friends or want something with more variety, or have that pommes craving (usually that's me...) then go to Boussi. But in either case, you'll be happy and full in the end. :)

Pros: buffet items, good value + service, excellent food

Falafel Falafel Boussi Baharat

Having two of best Falafel restaurants in Berlin (better: in the world! ;))--Baharat-Falafel (http://www.happycow.net/reviews.php?id=890) and Boussi Falafel--right next to each other is simply awsome! I eat there very often and I always loved it so far. In addition to wonderful Falafel (plates), they offer some delightful freedom fries and Halloumi cheese at Boussi Falafel. Many vegan options are available.

At first glance, the atmosphere might feel a little bit cool and overstyled (neon-green :)), but the staff is always friendly and once I got used to it, I started feeling quite comfortable there.

(Nearly) everything offered at Boussi Falafel is organic food and the plastic cups you drink your freshly squeezed juice from are 100% compostable.

Now the most important part: The food tastes just great! It is even really healthy -- at least if you can resist ordering french fries and/or Halloumi cheese :)).

Pros: Very friendly staff, Wonderful healthy food , Run by sustainability fans
Cons: Atmosphere might feel cool @ 1st glance
