Very clean, thoughtful place.

Food: portion and ingredients are generous (please see photo) although I hadn't the chance to try many different dishes yet I tend to believe that they don't skimp in their products.
Place: What caught my eye is that there's an exhaust fan on the shopfront drawing air out. Next, there's a floor fan turned on near the cash register, circulating air in the room. Two cassette type air conditioners on the ceiling. This shows the management's concern for air quality in the dining room, a small detail but absolute plus.
Cleanliness: the table "cloth" looks like cloth and is easily cleaned. The floor is "carpeted" dark green and very clean. For a common Chinese eating place what's unusual is that they provide a full box of tissues on each table!
These are tiny details that give you a clue as to how they approach the running of a food place. And they get high marks from me.
Kowloon City has its own flavours as a place. Buildings are (still) low, lots of sun shining in. Shops are varied and many are decades old. People are very friendly, lots of Chiu Chows. The place is bustling day and night.

Pros: Sumptuous food, Clean, careful, observant owners, Helpful staff
Cons: The lo mei may be a bit too sweet, Use of food colouring

Great veggie restaurant

Very homely family run restaurant. The food tastes amazing, but try and order off the set menu and pick things you like. Their dessert selection isn't fantastic, but the main dishes (especially the mock-meat dishes) are fantastic. The dishes range from extremely healthy buddhist veggies to oil-saturated deep fried tofu, so even though it's vegetarian it's not always 100% healthy. The menu is also in English for the main dishes, but the rice and noodle sections at the back are all in cantonese. The staff and quite good at recommending dishes and the food is cooked quickly. They also have a take-out section and upstairs seating if the restaurant is busy.

I recommend their taro fish, peiking duck and the vanilla-pumpkin baked rice. Exceptionally tasty food!

Pros: lots of veggie options, delicious foods, reasonable prices
Cons: oily food, no desserts, no fully english menu

Friendly little family run cafe

Delicious food.

Nearly all vegan.

Run by a very friendly family team.

A little off the beaten track but worth the effort of going there.

It is located just to the north of Boundary Street - a few minutes walk from the delightful 'Kowloon Walled City Park' - I usually pick up a 106 bus on Hong Kong Island when I am heading to that part of town.

The old airport 'Kai Tak' is also nearby.
