Fabulous Vegan Buffet on Korea's Southwest Coast
Posted on 03 / 05 / 2010Jayun is a vegan buffet in Mokpo, a fishing and ferry port on Korea's southwest coast. I rank it in the top tier of veggie buffets in Korea because (1) the price is low at W9,000; (2) the food is varied and comprehensive, including Korean, western, and international foods; (3) it's all-you-can-eat; (4) the interior of this log cabin-style building is beautiful, light-filled, and homey. Unusual touches include bread (with do-it-yourself toaster); sandwiches (unfortunately, with white bread); tiny bundles of multicolored veggies wrapped in leaves and tied in spring-onion knots; tempura (batter-fried) veggies; and a minimum of "fake meat" products. My only gripe is that it isn't open all day, just at lunch and dinner time.
Pros: variety, quality, low priceCons: short hours
