Review: Oooo yum. Indian all-veg buffet? Yes please. Went here not expecting too much, given the strip-mall location. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The buffet had at least a dozen different items and nearly all of them were dairy-free!
There were 2 different soups, though they did taste rather similar. A nice salad (tomatoes, onions, cucumbers, carrots, hot peppers) that you can snag with or without lettuce, along with 4 different dressings (yogurt-based, green traditional sauce, tamarind sauce, coconut-based sauce). The dressings can also be used for other things, including the pakoras and 2 other deep fried goodies (one looking like a savory donut, the other like a potato patty with spices), another type of pancake with vegetables, and the dosas they bring to your table (thin rice-based crepes with potato filling).
There was also at least 2 or 3 bean-based, nicely spiced dishes. Plenty of basmati rice, chapati slices, and another type of small steamed bread product (kind of salty).
Other dishes included an eggplant dish, a green-bean veggie dish, an excellent cauliflower dish, a veggie dish in yellow-sauce, a dessert dish (halva--it had dairy), and a yogurt sauce vegetable dish.
For only $11.95 per person, we were MORE than satisfied.
The selection was incredible and very satisfying. I only regret picking up one item (the small steamed bread item).
The high number of people insured the high turnover of food! I don't remember how many times I saw them refilling the dishes! Yum! Definitely go if you like buffets and Indian food. The food wasn't too spicy or too bland, but it was "just right" to suit all palates.
Note: we didn't even look at the menu!
Pros: Variety * Soup * Dressings/sauces
Cons: Salty * Oily * Too much food! |

Review: The food here is good, but not up to the Woodlands standard. However, it's in the three to four range, certainly not zero. And nearby is Tiffin, not vegetarian but where one can have a good vegetarian meal.
