Day & Night

5 Posted on 11 / 02 / 2011

Beautifully designed and presented place in the lovely Yorkshire town of Wetherby. Easy to find just off the main street, this place operates as a cafe with a hearty snack menu during the day but at night has a much more extensive gourmet offering making use of both upstairs and downstairs seating. The daytime menu is mainly Indian style with the exception of the UK style panini thrown in for fussy eaters. We had lunch which consisted of a spicy lentil and dill soup and small poppadum pockets filled with chick peas and potatoes. This place is a fabulous evening dining venue as an alternative to the typical British Indian restaurant serving dishes such as vegetable madras, korma & dansak etc. They now serve a superb range of vegetarian and vegan wines and beers which complement evening dining perfectly. The vegan choice is excellent and they can make almost any meal as vegan even the Thali which is great value at £13.50. I definitely want to go back and experience the calm and welcoming atmosphere of this wonderful venue.

Pros: interior design, staff, Food

Really very good

5 Posted on 11 / 20 / 2010

It's taken me a while to get round to doing this review so things may have changed as they were just finding their feet when I went. Really delicately spiced Indian food. Plenty of choice for vegans with main courses, but no choice at all on desserts when I went. They do serve wine but it is "de-alcholised" - which I find rather unpleasant. Good choice of soft drinks though. Very friendly people.

Pros: Delicious food, Nice ambience, Friendly people
Cons: None

real indian healthy food

4 Posted on 09 / 18 / 2010

popped in today on my way home from Sheffield really handy from the M1. Loads for vegans I had pockets of chickpeas and potatoes so so good and my boyf massala dosa was amazing too. I love this kind of indian food and I'm hoping to be passing on an evening soon. Staff were nice only complaint was quite expensive mine was £4.95 and boyfs was £8.50 you can get dosa and veg curry for £4.50 near me and mine wasn't enough for a main meal. Totally woth going as a treat and it did look like they did offers and deals on an evening

Pros: flavorsome/delicous, lots for vegans, healthy
Cons: bit pricey
