What a lovely cafe/ diner, so friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious with so much choice for vegans. Menu clearly marked for vegans and staff knew about ingredients as I believe one of the owners is a vegan. We are vegan and were visiting Bude with meat eating family and is was so nice to be able to all go out together and eat for a change without feeling odd ones out. We went for breakfast which we all enjoyed and the vegan breakfast was amazing. We all enjoyed so much we went back for lunch the next day. I had lentil tagine which was yummy and my husband had falafel burger which again was amazing. So nice to get soya milk & soya ice cream too. Will definitely be visiting Gs again ( & again probably) next time in Bude, cannot fault it. Thank you so much.

We went to this cafe on three occasions, on the first occasion we had lunch; a vegan blt, a vegan sausage and onion sandwich and some potato skins and dip, followed by a vegan sundae, vegan milkshake and vegan coke float too. The food was delicious, proper lincolnshire vegan sausage too, not just default linda mccartney. Although the sandwich's were delicious, i think the main event was the sundae, oodles of ice cream with delicious fruity sauce. We polished it off very quickly! The service on this occasion was brilliant, the waitress Penny explained she was still learning about the vegan food, and went out of her way to gather all the correct information for us. The second occasion we visited was for dinner- vegetable pasta, vegan chilli followed by that winning sundae again and a giant cappucino. Both of us tried each others food, both agreed it was delicious and a generous portion, but again we were won over by the incredible sundae and the cappuccino was in my eyes, a work of genius. That night the cafe had stayed open to make us dinner and we spent the whole time chatting to the wonderful owners, i have never ever been made to feel so welcome. We left with big grins and actually feeling like we had spent the evening with a couple of new friends! The third and last time (for now!) we went to G's was for the breakfast, a giant vegan breakfast which, after ten days camping, really, really hit the spot. And of course we had a couple more godly cappuccino's. Again we were made to feel uber welcome, penny served us and was happy to chat with us, and we were happy to chat to her, because she's lovely :) the other customers also looked very happy which led to a lovely atmosphere in the place. Basically we left with a full tummy and warm heart every time we left this place and we cannot recommend it enough XXX

Pros: Staff, atmosphere, cappuccino

Lots of choice for vegetarians and vegans

We first discovered Gs Cafe and Diner a year ago while on holiday in Bude. It's a little out of the way of the main shopping area, but still in the town centre, so quite easy to get to. We found the place very good, so when we were in Bude again this summer we went twice. The staff are very friendly, even remembering us from last year!

This year we tried the scones, which are vegan and very tasty and a decent size, with the option of being served with either butter or "Pure" marg. Soya milk is available for drinks, including ones like lattes.

Although this year we didn't have a meal at Gs (the weather was actually nice enough for picnicing on the beach instead!), I noticed they've changed the menu so there's now even more options for vegans and vegetarians, which are helpfully marked as such on the menu. When we went last year, the food was delicious with good portion sizes. I had a vegan pasta dish they made especially, followed by soya ice cream.

The few times I've been to Gs it's never been too busy, although it can feel a bit cramped on a more busy day, but I haven't found this to be much of a problem.

For a cafe which serves non-veg options, the range of vegetarian and vegan food is very good. A really great find.

Pros: Very friendly and welcoming, Good range for vegetarians and vegans, Delicious food
