Very convenient
Posted on 07 / 29 / 2009I love this store because other grocery stores have very little vegan bread and organic vegetables. But you must be able to read the ingredients list or ask for help, because they have both vegan and non-vegan bread. (Sundays they often run out of bread.) I also recommend Unohana cookies (but there are many non-vegan cookies too) and canned meat substitute (hatake no niku). They have vegan chocolate, too, but not during summer because it will melt during shipping. The lunch buffet is good, but some days are more veg-friendly than other days.
Pros: bread without milk, cookies, organic stuffCons: must read labels, selection can vary by day, chocolate only during winter
The lunch buffet really does vary widely by the day, as some days it is nearly all vegan and some days there aren't enough vegetarian dishes to make it worthwhile. If you can read Japanese, check the allergen statements to get an idea of what you can eat (but ask anyway, because some things might contain animal products that aren't considered allergens).
