Info: Serves meat, veg options available. A nice place on the beach road that emphasises "beach" fare. Lots of coconut and also fish. Makes an effort to be vegan/vegetarian-friendly. Menu includes a hummus platter with naan, veggie burger, fried eggplant, portabella salad or sandwich (with artichokes on the salad), and 2 vegetarian noodle dishes. Lively atmosphere with bright, bold paintings and stained-glass tiki candle holders on the walls. There are palm trees outside, as well as a small fish pond. Upstairs is a smoking bar, but downstairs is non-smoking. Accepts credit cards. Price: Inexpensive.

Review: These two dishes, the main "vegetarian" selections under the main courses, contain FISH SAUCE! I spoke with the chef/manager; when I pointed out that adding fish sauce negates their veggie status, he told me "it depends on your definition of vegetarian." Ain't my definition. Webster's (or any other dictionary) clearly says vegetarian means no "flesh, poultry, fish or shellfish."

•Vegetarian Thali 13.95
A large platter of black beans and rice, hummus, fried eggplant, marinated cabbage, flat bread and condiments
Fortunately, there are veggie/vegan choices in the appetizers/salads section.
