Review: Why can't more restaurants in Toronto be like this? So many veggie restaurants try to do something fancy and over complicate and tend destroying all of the delicate flavors in a veggie dish, not Calico!
Limited choices on the menu consist of two apps, two entrees, a soup and 2 dessert cut down on the guess work if dining with a friend. You are able to try almost everything they have to offer that day.
The portions are on the small side, but I'm positive they are "recommended servings" sized. The ingredients used were also very interesting and different, I must say I have added swiss chard to my weekly grocery list, all thanks to Calico. The prices were a little steep, but I had no problem paying because I was completely blown away. The server was also very friendly, which is another rarity in this city. I can't wait to dine on the patio next summer.

Pros: small menu * Varity of ingredients * friendly staff
Cons: price * small portions * We almost walked passed it, small sign

Review: This place was an unexpected treat! Cozy little cafe with an outdoor section, next to a fantastic garden. We actually saw them come out to clip herbs for the food!

The food was very tasty--they only had two entrees, two appetizers, and a soup available. So everything was made with a lot of care and presented beautifully. It was a tad pricey and portions were small, but not at all unreasonable.

This would be a nice date destination.

Pros: friendly staff * beautiful food * garden!
Cons: expensive * *
