Review: I love going to Amma, they are always so informative and tasty. As a vegan, it's often difficult to find good Indian food. This place definitely meets my needs for great Indian food! Unlike some other DC area Indian restaurants, the food here always tastes excellent and wonderful. However, the service isn't always the best. Sometimes the staff is pushy and/or ignores you. The food is worth it too. Such a quaint dining room, it's not overwhelming. Always a fav: any dosa with potatoes. You can't go wrong here if you like Indian food!
Pros: Tasty * Fresh * Cozy
Cons: * * |

Review: I've found that the food here is reasonably good, but not as good as Udupi Palace, or Woodlands or the Amma's in Fairfax. Be sure to specify no ghee and no yogurt if you're vegan; many dishes here will be brushed with it by default. Still worth a visit, as it's the only S. Indian place not way out on the fringe of the city.
Pros: close to center of city * all vegetarian * clean/quiet
Cons: food mediocre * in Georgetown (ugh) * |
