Review: Check it out on a map if you've not been there before/ are not familiar with this street. Little café, with pretty, dark wood furniture a few old objects around. On the left as you go in coffee is stored in bulk. Pictures on the wall are for sale I believe. Inviting to go in to on a cold day.
When I went in at about three one afternoon lots of older people from the neighbourhood were popping in and out too. It was quite busy, one person who came in had to share a table with someone else.

There is a good range of breakfasts, soup, salad and the like for lunch and cakes and scones. A couple of American/ Mexican items such as tortilla and nachos. There is salmon in a couple of dishes. There is a good range of teas and coffees.
I had the scrambled eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and toast. I also had English breakfast tea. I think they use butter to cook in/ add it in. The tomatoes and mushrooms were a bit rich in this way. If you're vegan it is probably advisable to enquire. The bread was the regular English style – a bit light - although it was wholemeal and from a good loaf. The portion of mushrooms was big enough. It was a pretty good breakfast. Several rounds of tea were had which were clipper. They gave us one strainer for English breakfast and Assam tea and a teacup and saucer mismatched - though both were pretty and went together okay - at one stage. We put it down to the waitress being an American girl probably on her year abroad.

Service was pleasant enough but at times a little slow. Likely because they were busy.

Value was good at Just over ₤10 for breakfast above, one piece of cake and three rounds of tea.

If you want the full tea room experience head to a big hotel, but this is a relaxed place you could go to everyday.
