Such a shame
Posted on 04 / 27 / 2012Sorry to see this has changed owner ship as the previous people were lovely and produced great food. Its a bit out of the way & was worth the trip as the food was good and the are is great for walks and relaxing.
New owners have introduced meat to the menu. Very sad indeed.
Cons: old menu gone, added dead animals to the new menu, old owners gone
Thank you for your comments.
We still are a lovely café in a beautiful setting. Yes we have introduced meat options as we expand the menu and try to give customers a selection of good quality, home prepared and cooked dishes.
We believe in good, clean, healthy food and continue to try to understand the at time polarised arguments between herbivore vs carni/omni-vore, raw vs cooked, local vs global, organic vs GM lifestyles. We also accept that the transitional processes towards a fully "green, Eco, local, post-oil" society will take a few generations yet and to be better place for these changes we need to be stable in terms of our beliefs, knowledge, finances and future direction.
We are genuinely vegetarian friendly, we prepare our meals from a vegetarian base and add meat when appropriate.
We do offer vegan, vegetarian, gluten free dishes.
We hope that the day you visited you did not feel we were offering lip service to your vegan beliefs.
We would welcome any positive advice that may help us better cater for vegetarian/vegan diets and lifestyles.
We would be interested in hearing more about your comment, "unethical now".
Thank you again for commenting on our vegetarian friendly café.
Best regards.
Terry.
