Review: The Dumpling Cafe has a really nice atmosphere and played great music when we were there - it felt a bit like being back in the sixties with all the oldschool interior and stuff.
For drinks I had a freshly pressed ornage juice (0,2l) for 2,80€.
We both had dumplings which I found a bit expensive (around 4,30€ for a big portion, a small portion is 3,00€ for three dumplings). I wasn't full afterwards. While my boyfriend had vegetarian corn-chilli-dumplings with yogurt dip, I ordered them with a bean-chickpea-filling (the only non-sweet vegan filling). Unfortunately, the only vegan sauce was a sweet-sour sauce which I didn't find going together well with the dumplings.
As desert we had a delicious chocolate cupcake (a bit expensive for 2,50, though).
There is a variety of board games, newspapers and also w-lan.
I like the fact that they don't charge more for vegan options such as soy milk instead of cow's milk. What I find a bit irritating is that in the menu it says that in order to keep affordable prices they don't use organic and fair trade products trough the board.
Pros: cozy * friendly staff * good food
Cons: not inexpensive * few vegan options * small portions |

Review: A bit off the beaten path in a residential neighborhood, there's a young vibe in this very informal, politically aware little cafe which serves tasty dumplings (of course) with a variety of sauces. The fillings were mostly veggie (corn, potato, etc) with some milk products. Some vegan dumplings too. A big plate with salad was 5.50 Euros. Beer and wine served.
Pros: tasty * good value * informal
Cons: * * |

Pros: good value * friendly staff * cosy feel
Cons: limited menu * location * |
