Review: Even though Serenity is not completely vegan you can still enjoy your favorites. Under these trying times it is understandable when you have to make unpopular choices to keep a business open. Please do not avoid this wonderful restaurant because of a menu change. I guarantee Jill, Kerry and Jack will cook you something amazing! I can't wait to visit them again.
Pros: Relaxing space * fresh food * location
Cons: * * |

Review: Nice find. Excellent vegan ranch dressing. So good you will want to drink it. Try the Buffalo Tofu and wet burrito. They need more vegan options and and need to have more in stock.

Review: It is so sad to hear when a vegetarian almost vegan restaurant sells out and starts serving meat. This happened last week. Don't expect much from this place.

Cons: meat * meat * more meat |

Review: They are really onto something with their tea-infused salad dressings. The owners should seriously consider going into the retail salad dressing business ... if anything, at least the tourists like me would buy it!
The tea selection is excellent.
The vegan food items were skimpy on the protein ... if I needed an actual meal, I had to order additional items such as grilled tofu.
Pros: vegan options * great tea * nice atmosphere
Cons: less then hearty dishes * * |

Review: I was recently volunteering at the Traverse City Film Festival, and feeling a little under the weather. Between shifts, I walked across the street to Serenity and ordered a steaming hot bowl of tomato tortilla soup (vegan) and an avocado and tempeh pita. The very sweet girl at the counter suggested a citrus tea full of antioxidants. I curled up comfortably on a cushion in the front window, and, nestled among the pillows, enjoyed every delicious bite. The soup was homemade and the pita delicious. The tea was so refreshing. This place is entirely vegetarian but would appeal to anyone interested in healthy, nutritious food made with obvious care.
Pros: Scrumptious Food * Vegetarian and Vegan Menu * Friendly Laid Back Atmosphere
Cons: Windows need Cleaning * * |

Review: The best place in Traverse City to find vegan/vegetarian food as there is absolutely no meat allowed in the kitchen. They would be entirely vegan if they didn't have a few cheeses. There are no eggs allowed in the kitchen, and all of there dressings are vegan, EVEN THE RANCH!!! The ranch is incredible, and I give Jack (the owner, who is himself, a vegetarian) props for having it vegan. There are a lot of different vegan deserts, including a chocolate peanut butter cups, and rice cream. My favorite item on the menu is the "BLT", which is a vegan rendition of the sandwich using tempeh to replace the bacon, and a delicious green-tea veganaise. There is also a vegan pizza that is quite good, but doesn't really resemble a pizza... it is basically a pita crust with hummus and veggies, but is mighty tasty. The pesto sandwich is also very tasty, and is made with vegan pesto, but does come with mozzarella if you don't ask them to hold it. Basically everything that I have tried has been really good. Did I mention that all of their food is organic, and mostly local produce, and that the prices are still relatively low? Did I also mention that they have a huge selection of teas and tisanes (I think over 80), and that there are free refills on the iced tea of the day, of which there are usually 2-4 different flavors? On top of all this, the atmosphere is nice and comfortable, with couches and coffee tables with chess, and there's free WIFI. Basically Jack is a great guy who runs a great business. I could eat here every day.
Pros: Taste * Price * All organic
Cons: cheese * none * none |
