Review: We went to the Meet Market on Saturday for the all you can eat buffet. We arrived at 1:30pm, but there was still plenty of food available. The guys running the place told us that Sunday is their busiest day (so arrive early then!) and they put out more items too. On Saturday, they have bagels, fruit, pancakes, potatoes, tofu scramble, tempeh bacon, coffee and juice while on Sundays they add french toast, sausages and other items.
While the food was basic, it was quite filling and would be really tasty the morning after a night out. It hit the spot for us. And the value at $10 can't be beat, so they deserve marks just for that. We also got a beef and cheddar sandwich to go which was tasty vegan junk food although a bit salty.
They sell some grocery items as well as Daiya. We purchased a pound of it for only $9. In addition, we got a couple of the more rare grocery items. Overall, the Meet Market is a good value and we plan on returning again.
Pros: good value * Daiya *
Cons: street parking * * |

Review: Was here in December 09 and am pleased to review it on HappyCow. I had previously been here when it was Flore Cafe and The Vegan Spot before that, all under the same ownership just changes here and there.
The Meet Market decor and vibe is same as Flore Cafe, except that the menu has been modified to become all vegan and more concise with sandwiches being the main food. A sandwich is price at around $6, no sides included.
My husband had the un-chicken sandwich (savory house-made wheat meat/chicken strips topped with mozzarella "cheese" nestled inside a 6-inch white roll). We both thought it tasted good (a bit on the salty side for us personally), and it's not enough for 1 person to eat as a meal. I opted for the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet which was a great deal at $10. On the day we were there, the buffet featured blackenend marinated tofu strips, scrambled beans & tofu, potatoes, pancakes, fresh cut fruit, orange juice, and coffee. That was very satifying.
Our servers, the two men running the show, were very friendly and prompt. The only complaint I had was that the dining room inside was smoky due to poor ventilation... thank goodness that there's outdoor seating.

Review: I've been to Flore Cafe a few times now. At first I wasn't too impressed, but I kept coming back and now I think it's a really decent place and I'm glad it's here. First of all, I think it's probably the cutest cafe in town. Very antiquey and bohemian inside, and there's tables on the sidewalk too. It's closer to a european sidewalk cafe feel than anything on Sunset Junction, which is a little too busy sometimes. It's nice to see a vegan restaurant that branches out from that area too.
The food I've had isn't bad, ( I've mostly had salads and deli items, haven't tried the waffles) but nothing special either. Except for a few items:
The shakes! Where else can you get a coconut shake around here? And it's good too, and not $9 like the one at Cafe Flourish. The avocado lime is awesome as well. Not too crazy about the raw chocolate, which is too bad because a raw chocolate shake done well is a beautiful thing.
They juice! You can get a green juice for 4.95 I think.
Soups- The moroccan stew has chickpeas, which are always a healthy, filling vegan lunch option. The daily soups I've had have been pretty good too. It's surprisingly hard to find vegan soups, at least as much as I'd like to eat them, so, yay!
And they have eggs too, if you're into that. And there's raw options, like a yummy kale salad with raw beets. All in all, definitely worth checking out.
Pros: cute * shakes * healthy options
Cons: wish there was more parking * * |

Review: I tried the brunch here; it was all you can eat for $10 and you can't beat that. However, if I lived out here I wouldn't frequent it much. I just thought it was mediocre Vegan brunch and LA has so much more to offer Vegan-wise.
One thing to note, they don't give you a new plate for your additional trips to the buffet; therefore, other people can contaminate the food...yuck. Luckily we were the first ones there.

Review: Flore Cafe took over for the Vegan Spot. Same ownership as Flore and I recommend Flore over Flore Cafe, but one noteable is the Sunday Brunch they've started. Call ahead and make sure its still going on. Parking is miserable. Its SMALL with limited seating

Cons: parking * * |
