Review: I just went vegan earlier this month and had only been eating organic oatmeals and organic cold cereals, so you have to imagine my shock when I actually went to the location and was blessed to find a huge array of ORGANIC vegetarian and vegan groceries, produce and prepared foods. I wasn't only shocked, I was excited and sincerely happy to have found something close to my home that I could frequent and support.

As stated above, they carry organic groceries for vegans and vegetarians, so on my second visit I picked up some Ezekiel 4:9 bread, Cascadian Farms organic strawberry fruit spread, a couple packs of Lightlife and Yves deli slices and a few pieces of produce. I also visited the quaint cafe in the back that serves vegan carrot cake (I tried this also, it was UNBELIEVABLY good), vegan sweet potato cake, eight and ten dollar GENEROUS combo plates which are loaded up with a medley of rice/peas, soy, plantain, ital stew (a VEGAN mixture of red beans, wheat dumplings, and some other vegetables which escape me right now), four types of patty pastries: vegetable, soy, ackee (a popular Caribbean fruit), and fish, fresh, organic juices, and other bits and bites, all of which are vegan outside of the fish patty and salmon cakes. I tried the soy and vegetable patties, as well as a ten dollar combination plate (which is at least two servings of food), and I must say, the food was fresh, lightly seasoned, and hardly oily. The patties in particular seemed to be encased in this whole wheat pastry which wasn't at all oily and greasy as some patties can be.

All in all, this is the place to go for those who live in the Cambria Heights, Saint Albans, Laurelton, Rosedale and surrounding southeast Queens villages if you follow a vegan/vegetarian lifestyle, and can't be bothered with making the commute to the city for Whole Foods or Flushing for Queens Health Food Emporium. The prices aren't dirt cheap, but they aren't outrageous either. You get what you pay for. The staff is very helpful, and their products are well-stocked and organized. I would say I wish it was bigger, but in my opinion, there is ample space to move around and they make the best of it. I love this place.

Pros: excellent food * organic * friendly staff
Cons: small space * *
