Review: Sorry folks but I'm afraid that it's well and truly gone, searched all around the area... restuarant Bamlao has moved and is now being demolished. There's a "Hong Kong" restaurant where I'd expect this today, up until yesterday they had a big "vegetarian buffet" sign on the street but it was clearly a different restaurant that is now serving meat. Now that sign is gone. Please correct me if I'm wrong!

Review: I don't know if it's the best find in Laos or at least Vientianne, but it's really nothing to do around place. The price is too high for these settings, choice of dishes and quality of service if compare to Thai buffets. The place looks so boring, windows are really dirty, no air-con or even a fan working inside this place even on hot days! I'd advice you to stay out and opt for a veggie sandwich for 12,000 kip.
Pros: food is ok * free water *
Cons: buffet isn't sufficient * place isn't nice * price is too high |

Review: We had the buffet lunch at this Buddhist restaurant - it's not posh or flash by any means but the food speaks for itself instead (with no MSG). It seemed a like a real local joint and was nice and busy. Every dish was tasty and fresh and it included a variety of different dishes, thankfully not relying just on mock meat like other buffet vego places, instead they included vegetable dishes, salad, soups and fruits for dessert - all for 20,000 kip. The staff were fantastic too keeping us hydrated with loads of water (it was stinking hot that day!) and encouraging us to go back for seconds - even teaching us a few Laos phrases. I'd really recommend this place and can't wait to try their affiliated restaurant if I can find it!
Pros: Delicious and varied food * no MSG * Friendly staff

Review: Have worked in Lao for the past 6 months and everything was closed pretty much from 30th Dec until January 2nd for New Years (any excuse for a party for Laotians). I eat here at least 3 or 4 times per week and the food is always exceptional (buffett or a la carte), the service (Mr. Sith and family) is always friendly and the price is unbeatable. Definately the best veggie joint in town (and maybe all Laos....) It's vegan freindly and fresh. JAY
Pros: delicious veggie Lao food * excellent price * friendly service
Cons: food goes to fast on the buffett - get t * * |
