Review: I had an excellent experience here and will be visiting again!!
I did found it a tiny bit tricky to find but was very pleased with the level of customer service and attention when I got there about 3pm.
I was served with great friendliness and I had an enlightening chat with the owners about everything from hot places to dance salsa, vegetarian businesses in Liverpool and the phenomenon that is the "Scouse Duck". I joked saying that they should put a tourist information symbol up also, as really, for visitors the guys know their Liverpudlian culture :)
It is a small place but you can eat perched at the window and watch the Liverpool suits passing by. But let's talk food here...
Options are clearly shown on blackboards but the owners are more than happy to run through and explain which are the vegan ones (of which there are quite a few).
Catering to the local businesses, Soupernatural is predominantly a light lunch joint, with interesting sandwiches such as the nutroast and beetroot baquette. There is a selection of snack foods like crisps and nice vegan fruity cereal bars. But if you are in need of something more substantial and hot (as I was) then there are hot dishes such as soups, jacket potatos with fillings such as veg chilli and other hot goodies. There are salads-a-go-go and I thought the coffee was stupendous.
All in all a very positive late lunch experience.
Pros: Tasty food * Top customer service * interesting variety of dishes
Cons: little bit hard to find * * |

Review: Located on a small side street just opposite the monumental India Buildings, Water Street; Soupernatural is around the business area of the city but only a short stroll from the shops if you're out and about or at work in the city centre in the day time. Small seating area.
100% vegetarian with a good selection of vegan options. Soups and main courses plus desserts hot and cold drinks. Soya milk and dairy free spread available. Tempting looking salad bar. I went mid afternoon and was sorry to have missed the Thai green curry which was a sell out but there was plenty of other stuff left. Great Thai soup and bread with generous portions. Owners friendly and chatty and stuff is made fresh on the premises. Wide choices and inventive menu, great tasting food. Fabulous to have such a varied, good quality purely vegetarian and vegan establishment in the city centre.Friendly owners who clearly care about producing appetising and enticing food. This is the type of place that appeals well to veg*ns and non veg*ns alike, such is the choice and quality on offer.
It would be great to have an additional branch of Soupernatural, offering later and weekend opening, amidst the retail area of the city.
Pros: 100% veggie * tasty food * wide selection
Cons: * * |

Review: This place is day time only Monday to Friday.
On the day I went in (the menu changes a lot it seems) for lunch there were 6 soups on offer 2 of which were vegan veggie. There was also a choice of hot meals including a vegan veggie chilli and lasagne and quiche for ovo / lacto veggies. A choice of around a dozen salads on offer - all vegan veggie except 2.
Sandwich wise there was a decent choice of breads and fillings.
There are cakes, biscuits and cookies.
The breakfast menu seems to include croissant, pain au chocolat, Danish patries, toast, bagels, muffins, Greek breakfast and porridge.
Drinks wise it's the usual teas & coffees (soya milk available), juices and water.
I thought the place was fine. The guy who served me was very helpful me as a vegan veggie. The atmo was fine and price wise it was pretty much what you'd pay elsewhere (but elsewhere is unlikely to be all vegetarian).
The folowing is straight from the Soupernatural menu...
"Our aim is to provide high quality, freshly prepared, 'fast' food daily.
With an emphasis on fresh seasonal and locally sourced ingredients without the addition of preservatives, stabilisers, emulsifiers, chemicals or additives.
In order to bring you these these exciting seasonal options our menu has to change continuously. Check our daily specials boards for selections.
The majority of our customers take away although we do have facilities to eat on the premises.
Our packaging is never recycles and bio degradable wherever possible.
We also endeavour to provide products that cater for those with specific dietary needs, including: coeliac, dairy intolerance, nut allergies etc... If you have any specific dietary requirements please tell us and we'll do our best to help.
Finally given the hectic nature of contemporary working regimes we attempt tp offer products that supply you with all or some of your 'five' a day nutritional requirements.
We support the FAIRTRADE and Organic movements and will do our best to choose suppliers who operate in an ethical manner."
Decide for your self.
Pros: Vegan veggie friendly * Decent choice * Helpful staff
Cons: Daytime only * Midweeek only * |

Review: I love Soupernatural - it's pretty much the only wholly vegetarian place in that side of the city and is a godsend for vegetarians/vegans who don't just want another cheese or egg or cheese sandwich for lunch. It's run by the owners who make most things themselves and while it's not cheap enough to eat there every day it's comparable to most sandwich shops in the area. There's only a few seats inside but during the summer you can always go down to the waterfront to eat which is only 5 minutes walk away. Good salad bar changes regularly, tons of soup options (usually a couple of which are vegan) and some organic and fair trade items too.
Pros: Great SOUP!! * Friendly staff * Good portions
Cons: A little bit pricey * * |
