Review: I love this restaurant, the food is amazing, so good I can even take my non veg friends and they don't complain that there is no meat on the menu. The service is not terrible, they are very busy..yes, but one thing we noticed is if you keep your menu open, they will not come to ask what you would like but as soon as you close the menu, they are there to ask you what you would like to order. The servers are very friendly and polite, and I am definitely not dressed to the nines when I go there. You may have to get someone's attention to grab you the bill but the food has always come quickly and piping hot. Great restaurant, maybe not for those who are more interested in constant waiter attention but for those who want to eat a great meal and not get disturbed every 5 minutes it's great!

Review: Yup, this place is just Okay. I never judge a restaurant on just a couple visits, and always give them many chances to redeem themselves, and it's sad to say that Bo Kong does not live up to my most basic of standards. Multiple times I had CRAP service at this restaurant (both locations). But, hey, who cares about the service if the food is good, eh? I can suffer bad service for good food. The food is sub-standard, and is SO SALTY that it burns my bloody throat (probably MSG!!!). As I said, I thought, they were having an off-day. I said that the second time too. And the third, and fourth, and fifth..., then I said, damn it, enough is enough -- I'm never going back there again. I don't eat there anymore. I wouldn't even eat there if someone else was paying just from the MSG/salt (yes, I specifically requested that they not use MSG, but you'll find that in most all Chinese restaurants (vegetarian or not) the sauces etc. are pre-prepared with MSG already added. Only the honest restaurants will admit this. Then they throw on more MSG during cooking). I know good food; not as well as some others, but when I get some everyday Canadians saying, for example, "That Thai restaurant is great" and I go and try it myself and find the sauce is made with poor quality ketchup with soy-sauce and sugar added, what the hell do they know! Some people eat crap food on a daily basis and can't tell good from crap. Anyone that gives this place a good rating does not know good food. Seriously. I'll only go back if I hear that it's under new management with new kitchen staff and a totally different menu.
Pros: Convienent location * Lots of tables and chairs *
Cons: WAY overpriced * Crap service * Salty/MSG!!!! |

Review: I love their dishes. My husband especially liked the mushroom and bock choi dish, and I love the veggie hot pots. Awesome seitan. I found the prices alright, a bit expensive for me to eat there a lot.
I do like the one in Richmond better, both for service and quality though.
Pros: delicious * HUGE selection *
Cons: cheaper veggie food to be had elsewhere * * |

Review: I've been here twice with my partner.
The bean curd stuffed with mushroom appetizer was great.
Also did dim sum one Sunday...but arrived late around 1 pm and many favourite items were sold out.
Definitely worthwhile.

Review: The food is not bad, but if you are wearing a t-shirt or jeans, DO NOT expect any service. I say this not based on one experience, but on many. I'm not blaming the servers, this place is ridiculously under-staffed, but the owner definitely fawns over his upper-class clientèle, ignoring all others. After many visits, we are finally resolved never to go back. I'm just not comfortable eating in a neck-tie.
Pros: Decent food * *
Cons: No service * * |

Review: so i was just passing through vancouver a long time ago and went here but it left an increadibly good impression on me, i dont remember what i ordered but to this day it is the best fake meat i have ever had times ten, i compare it to everything else, and nothing lives up. portions are good, prices are good, service, food, ect, everything here is worth its weight in gold. so go there, dabble with all the great options, and good luck finding my secret menu item, i hope to make it back one day!

Review: I had a good meal here. It is a fairly standard chinese/cantonaise vegetarian restaurant but, in my opinion, that is a wonderful thing. The portions are large and the prices are not exaggerated (though not super cheap). They have dim sum on sunday but, as I wanted to try out the restaurant, I ordered off the menu.
The soup with noodles was big enough to be a small/medium sized meal soup or shared with 2 people as an appetizer. The pineapple/tofu dish was great! The only thing I would say is there seems to be a lot of faux-meat and soy based things but that lots of the dishes are a little skimpy on actually vegetables.
The service was excellent and, although the space is not really that large, the room was set up well to appear comfortable and large.
Pros: large portions * nice staff * wide variety
Cons: * * |
