Review: Great coffeehouse with a very solid eco/green base. Lots of composting, recycling, and fair-trade injections to a typically standard coffee house. The baked goods are wonderful and they have some nice veggie/vegan sandwiches and non-coffee drinks too. A nice atmosphere, though watch for live music on Friday/Saturday nights and kid times on the weekend - it can get loud. Definitely my choice for coffeehouses in Louisville though.

Pros: vegan-friendly * pleasant atmosphere * great location
Cons: can be loud on weekends * *

• Hi xsamx, nice review. Thanks for the heads up about it being loud in there. Good at times, but bad if you are trying to get some work done!. response by Jeffrey

Review: Glad to have visited this place. I got the bread pudding as well as peanut butter and chocolate brownie both of which were very reasonably priced. Coffee was great too. Would definitely visit again.

Review: Ray's doesn't charge extra for soy, and be sure to pick up a delicious vegan chocolate-chip cookie/ice cream sandwich! Plus, the blended vegan coffee drinks are to die for...

Monday nights are free movie/documentary movie nights, be sure to check 'em out.

Pros: Delicious all-vegan baked goods * Progressive * Blended vegan drinks

Review: My family loves Ray's Monkey House. My toddler happily plays while sipping a soy milk while my husband and I enjoy the coffee that is roasted in house. They have a children's story hour and screen progressive films. My only complaint is that the vegan baked goods are below average.

Pros: friendly staff * delicious coffee * enviro conscious
Cons: baked goods * *

Review: Great selection of coffee drinks and tea. But there were far too many kids present to actually enjoy my drink.

Review: This place is amazingly cool. Good coffee that they roast right there in the front room and sell in french presses along with all of the other standard drinks. They only use organic milk! None of that BGH stuff here. And soymilk doesn't cost extra. That surprised me! My french press of Ethiopian coffee was one of the best I've ever had.

Looks comfortable too for hanging out and eating the vegan pastries. I had a tasty scone. Delicious! Big table in back for studying. Looks like a fun place for kids, but none were there during my visit. A couple roped off play areas with bunch of toys and games and trains.

Overall, this place belongs in San Francisco or Portland or someplace like that. They can count on me to help spread the word. Oh, and the barista was very friendly and helpful also.

Pros: Great coffee * Organic, vegan * Good for kids
Cons: * *
