Review: My husband and I (both vegetarian) visit this restaurant as often as possible. The surroundings are clean and comfortable. The wait staff is friendly and not obtrusive. The menu is amazing - what a treat to know we can order ANYTHING on the menu! Our favourites include the dahl soup (I could LIVE on that soup!), the Lotus Heart Blossom salad, the Sharing Plate (appetizer) and the Neatloaf. I've tried pretty much everything on the menu and have loved every single item!!
Pros: food * staff * surroundings
Cons: a little pricey * wait staff sometimes inattentive * |

Review: I ate at this restaurant with my non-vegetarian boyfriend and we both enjoyed it very much. We had the nachos as appetizer and the thai coconut green curry and moroccan tagine as main (available at dinner). The tagine was excellent, with lots of vegetables and a delicious sauce. The curry was a little plain for my taste and I would have liked more variety in the vegetables, but it was good. Service was also very good. Our only complaint... the background music.

Review: There was a nice variety of food on the menu. I ordered a masala dosa, mango lassi, and carrot cake.
The masala dosa was very good, but very expensive ($14, compared to $6 in the Indian part of Toronto). Still, this is the only place in Kingston to get a masala dosa!
The lassi had a unique taste to it...cardamom or cloves(?)...but was good.
The carrot cake is the best I have ever eaten in my life, hands-down.
The food was beautifully decorated.
The restaurant was pretty, but almost had a bit of a cultish feeling to it. No matter--the food was fabulous!
Pros: friendly staff * immaculate washrooms *
Cons: pricey * * |

Review: I went here for lunch on a Saturday, and here's what I observed:
- The resaurant is clean, nicely decorated, and not-too fancy-but-still-fancy.
- Most of the food is vegetarian, but there are lots of vegan meals as well (they are marked on the menu with a V).
- The Barbequed Tofu Rice Bowl (V) was delicous. It was a little bit spicy, had a lot of veggies, and was served in a large dish (I was so full I had to take half of it home with me).
- The Banana Strawberry Breeze Mocktail (V) was absolutely incredable. This was the best part of the whole meal. Pineapple juice, fresh strawberries, bananas and coconut cream- It was thck and cool, and just so good.
Overall, I recommend this place to anyone. I am looking forward to going back.
Pros: Delicious * Food was prepared quickly * Relaxing environment
Cons: Kind of expensive * The service was a little slow to start * |

Review: Today was my first visit to the restaurant. It is consists of simple yet pleasant decor and has a good sized patio. I had their simulated beef burger and found it to be ok. The bun was way larger than the burger portion and the burger was comparable in size to that of a McDonald's hamburger. Wait staff are pleasant but service toward the end of my meal was slow. Overall, it was an ok experience.
Pros: Clean * Friendly staff * Good Value
Cons: Small portions * Slow service * |

• I own Lotus-Heart-Blossoms and I would like to thank you for posting your comments. Our Veggie Beef Patti has been carefully chosen because it is made from very healthy ingredients and simulates the taste of beef far better than any other patty that we have tried (and we have tried many). These patties are specially ordered and delivered for us. We realized that it was a smaller patty but choose to provide quality and taste over size. We do, however, try to make up for this by offering a selection of toppings at no extra charge (goat/garlic cheese or Swiss cheese, along with sautéed mushrooms, sweet peppers, red onions and our amazing veggie bacon).
With regard to the slow service I do apologize - this should not have been the case. We are a very young restaurant and we are continually striving to improve our service – it is very im.... response by LHB

Review: I loved this place. I thought the food was great. I went with a meat-eating, anti-veg friend and she liked most of it too. I had the sesame pate and the Jerk Tofu, she had the green curry...the tofu was too soft in that dish for us..but other than that everything was perfect! And we got to sit in the window! We felt on display...very awesome.
Pros: remarkably clean * excellent menu selections * Excellent service
Cons: soft tofu in curry * * |

Review: Kingston has lucked out with this new restaurant. This vegetarian food from the appetizers, through the soups/salads, entres and finally to desert are all well presented, tasty and satisfying. Roughly half of the menu is vegan and identified as such which makes all the awkward questions unnecessary. The prices are on par with the other moderately priced restaurants in Kingston. The restaruant is well located with a very bright new interior. I have been to this restaurant three times since it opened and have found the staff friendly and the service exceptional.
