Review: We were heartbroken to learn that our favorite Bay Area vegetarian restuarant, Lu Li Garden went out-of-business... but were delighted to find this new restaurant, Global Vegetarian Bistro. The food is delicious! We ordered four entres and each one was a winner, and the total was under $20.00! The kitchen is clean and the staff is super friendly. For us, it is really important that there were no onions and garlic in the food, and the restaurant happily made our requests come true. Another really great sign is that the place is spiritual. You'll note that there Buddhist statues 'hidden' around the restaurant, and you instantly can tell that the 'family' cooks with love, good thoughts, and gratitude. And, after talking to the waiter, you'll find out that he really believes that global warming can be reduced through vegetarianism... so you know that this restaurant is a passion, not just day job. So come on in, and just let good things happen to you. I'm sure that your tummy will thank you.
Pros: delicous * inexpensive * spiritual

Review: I had been going to this place before it changed hands to the Dandelion Cafe and I was very hopeful that it was going to be just as good. I would LOVE to be writing a stellar review but after my first (and only visit so far) I was disappointed. I can't even remember now which dish I tried (probably because it was so unmemorable) but it wasn't good.
I might give it another chance but for the most part I'll stick to either the Vegetarian House or Tofoo Com Chay down the street.
Pros: Fairly Clean inside * *
Cons: Not tasty food * Parking * |

Review: While on a road trip, my husband and I decided to randomly exit the freeway in order to see if we could find a veg-friendly restaurant. We very happily chanced upon this restaurant and can't say enough positive things about it: the food we tried was delicious (the mock chicken and rice was especially good), the people who work there were welcoming and responsive, on the menu and in the restaurant are references to the fact that they don't utilize any creature-derived products out of "respect for all life" (i thought that was totally beautiful), and the prices were crazy-low. We spent under $15.00 and had enough food left over to feed us for another meal and a half. We'll definitely return when we have a chance.
Pros: friendly staff * *very* low prices * large menu
Cons: * * |

Review: I found this place because my dad (an electrician) did some work on this place. One day we stopped by to grab some lunch.
My dad isn't vegetarian but he loved it. I'm glad that we stopped by. When I'm the area I like to pick up some take out.
Pros: Good Food * Quite * Friendly Staff
