	Review: We went to this restaurant twice and were pleased both times. It has a large menu, mostly mock meat and fish dishes. The stuffed pumpkin was great value but came with a surprising amount of fake fish (which was not mentioned on the menu). Limited english from staff but the menu is in english with photos. The 'chicken' was particularly good. Plus it had a nice atmosphere and was popular with locals. Recommended though not cheap (but then little in Hong Kong is)   Pros: Lots of choice * nice atmosphere * good guality Cons: not cheap * *

"Chinese dishes might be better"   My Rating

	Review: When you get to 188 Canton Rd, keep walking to the shopping mall complex next door after 188, go up the mini escalator and the restaurant will be half way down on your left, numbered 106. Entering through 188 will lead you on a roundabout path going up and down escalators. The restaurant decor is fairly new, in standard Chinese restaurant style in the white lit space in the shopping centre. There is a counter selling dim sum just inside the entrance. A board painted with child monks at various tasks hangs above the counter and various photographs of monks are on one panel, showing some link/relationship with a monastery it would seem. A flat screen television sits next to these. Monastery chimes/music plays in the background. Clientele was families on this day, also suitable for other groups, couples - though not romantic - and singles. Service was pleasant with a waitress present able to speak some English. They were sometimes a bit slow due to watching a game show on television/ totally engrossed in their tasks. Perhaps Sunday is a busy day for them as they looked quite tired at 9.30pm. Menu is in Chinese, English and Japanese and contains full range of mock meats and seafoods in various Chinese dishes as well as a few others such as Singapore noodles, Malayan "fish" and Thai fried rice and some interesting sounding dishes such as "prawns" mixed with strawberries. Also a range of East/South East Asian desserts. The Thai fried rice and vegetables in coconut curry rice sauce were well presented, the first coming in a bird's nest esq basket made from yam on a bed of salad leaves. Unsure if it was an accurate rendering of Thai fried rice as unsure what this is, however was tasty with different types of rice, various chopped vegetables, mock diced pork and prawns. It was not spicy at all as I had been warned. The curry resembled no type of curry whatsoever, absent of any spice or coconut either. It was more a Western style creamy vegetable bake and would have been more acceptable had it been named accordingly. Portions were big and the above ordered may suffice for lunch for three people. Tea is charged as is hot water at eight dollars. The waitress asked me how the food was and suggested that I request more spice next time when I told her neither dish was spicy at all. At $118 plus 10% service charge for the two dishes I chose and a pot of hot water it was okay value. I would like to return sometime to try the Chinese dishes which may be better.   Pros: Well-presented dishes * Good condition - teapots not cracked * Cons: Possibly non-Chinese dishes wanting * service a bit slow on this occasion *
